Sure is! Did you know it’s not a full car, just designed to look like one.

One of the many reasons why I will support others going to space but never wish it for myself.
KEEP TALKING ABOUT THE TOILET WE’RE ALL HERE FOR IT
😬
I mean, it could be worse.
Wonder if they are having problems with liquid waste handling.
Bags on bums. It’s not great.
Space toilets are funny but it’s a good way to get people thinking about just how involved space can be.
Or how infrastructure that many of us take for granted isn’t accessible to all.
(Insert meme about “the work is mysterious and important” here.)
But seriously, he is genuinely amused that it brings me joy. And I’m happy to see that space toilet facts are bringing folks joy.
I don’t do much (write, track, research, educate) these days about space toilets because my day job for the last few years has been vastly different.
I have not mentioned space toilets once today to my coworkers.
FavHuman would be proud.
Glad to hear it! 😊
Bags. They used bags.
SO MANY BAGS OF POOP
Not all of them!
SpaceX toilets can’t be used while docked to the station.
At least 1 toilet on the ISS is not functional.
Yes, air suction.
Thanks for the update!!
It first launched years ago and the US isn’t great about covering foreign launches.
* over the sound of the suction fans
I feel like I may have read a book or two in that series…
The brine is what’s left after they pull as much water out as possible. It probably goes out with the rest of the space trash.
Nooooooope. Last we checked it was 3 out of 4. It’s harder to verify if the Russian segment toilets are functional.
I’m being informed that it’s almost midnight and I have to stop posting about space toilets for the night.
Place your bets now on whether my new coworkers are going to get an earful from me tomorrow.
Air suction takes care of that for you!
They went up in phases. There used to be 2 for the longest time. It sounds like 1 on the American segment is a prototype for what’s on Artemis now.
It’s been up for a few years and the US media doesn’t cover foreign launches really well.
There used to be an average of 3 space launches a week. Unsure of how that’s changed.
Ok, this is the second time I’ve seen @hoonofthe.day mentioned. Did I just make a new friend?
(I’m the reason CosmoQuest posts toilet stuff.)
If I recall correctly, it’s tradition to pee on the tire of the ground transport vehicle.
I’d be more impressed that you were able to make the trek from Soyuz to Shenzhou.
The technology is probably similar though.
There’s a running counter on the CosmoQuest website. No stand alone website that I’m aware of.
Hopefully not 100 per person.
Good!!
