What would Rob Ford say?

Start firing every employee who isn’t out on the front line directly serving the public and fixing this city every single day. No more policy managers, planners, reviewers, and other bureaucratic gatekeepers and slow walkers. If you don’t engage with the taxpayers and residents directly, you’re out.

This guy is about as threatening as a grade 5 supply teacher. What is he going to do, call down to the Principal’s office on Iran?

“Yes, Iran was misbehaving in class, they were talking during reading and charging for access to the Straights of Hormuz.”

Ridiculous. So bush league.

I love cars like I love fine wine, to be enjoyed in the finest of moments, and not as an obligation twice a day, five times a week.

Planners just keep adding more layers to the onion. Add more complexity to deal with their own insecurity and lack of trust in the society they are a part of.

How do the Liberals and NDP expect to gain seats and win when they provide zero compelling vision of what they stand for? Not being Doug Ford is not enough, I thought the last election proved this.

Everyone get their short positions locked in before the announcement?

As stupid as Doug’s ideas are, at least he has some clear ideas and a vision (as bad as it is). It’s time the Liberals and the NDP started offering up their own vision (if they even have one.)

Coincidentally, Porter is announcing their new airport hub in Montreal the same week.

Looks like Porter called PP too.

That’s a shame.

The cost to expand Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is at least $1 Billion for airside and ground side necessary improvements. I want confirmation from the Federal Government that no taxpayer dollars will be spent on this project. The Toronto Port Authority must be a self financing agency.

3 weeks ago 3 1 0 0

The Liberals need to publicly state that there are no taxpayer dollars or loans available to fund BBTCA’s expansion. The Port Authority will need to self finance the $1B needed to make this happen, the TPA does not have the ability to do this. Money talks, bullshit walks or takes the train to YYZ.

…and half a dozen trams that somehow operate without all of the platforms, wires, poles, and transformer stations every 300 metres that we need for our surface LRTs in Toronto.

Ford will probably cancel the UP Express as it competes with his $1B boon doggle island airport expansion.

…or they could re-engage with DB and focus on bringing real frequent train service to the Kitchener corridor as is demanded and allow the UP Express to function as a real premium airport rail service as it was intended.

New York also obligates property owners to clear sidewalks and bus stops in front of their property of face a fine. In Toronto, we encourage property owners to whinge and whine about the city doing it.

And I bet those trains ran at faster speeds that the 15km/h crawl the TTC subway does along the outdoor sections of the Spadina Line.

I just walked through Union Station and was blown away by the transformation. It’s a destination in itself. So well done.
