This extends far beyond cooking shows. Everything that's being marketed to people today is aspirational, as if everyone should be striving for some arbitrary goal. It's making generations of people feel inadequate in certain ways and I'm not here for it.
Seeing a whole lot of "Oh no, not my hero!" type posts about Chomsky with photos of Bannon, Epstein, etc.
How about we quit putting people on pedestals? You can nip your disappointment in the bud by realizing that people can be shitty, and not idolizing people in the first place.
As someone who only games on PC, it's going to be late 2027 at least.
This one too. Hard to just pick one GIF
I got to see them play for the first time earlier this year with Nitzer Ebb and Ministry. I actually got to see the stage during their performance until hat witch blocked my view.
Post a film you have seen more than 7 times with a GIF
I love this. If this link doesn't start you at the right time, skip to 11:00.
JB Pritzker tells Trump and his cronies to "Fuck all the way off."
Thank you, @govpritzker.illinois.gov for standing up for all of us.
I was off work for medical leave and was looking forward to having a month off in October, so I could enjoy the season and photograph peak fall colors. Then work called with a "light duty" job that turned out not to be so light, and 60+ hour weeks. Alas, my Nikons sit on the shelf, unused.
Our clients always procrastinate all year and then push hard in autumn before the fiscal year ends.
Due to 60 hour workweeks, yet another Halloween has passed me by. This leaves me feeling more melancholic than I usually am, as it's my favorite holiday.
I think admitting our faults and addressing them is important. We should all strive toward making ourselves better people. And little steps over time are ok. You're not a failure if you don't change your entire life immediately. Personal development is a marathon, not a sprint.
I've never liked how people always strive to present themselves and their lives to the public as clean and polished, perfect, happy.
People aren't perfect. Life can be dirty, messy, sometimes chaotic, full of happiness and sadness, pleasure, pain. People are complex.
It's terrible for sure. The most recent frustration for me is wading through all the AI slop. The top results almost always seem to be Web pages that are designed to get people to scroll five pages down (showing lots of ads in the process) before showing relevant information.
