If anyone wanted to add their name to our letter to University Court, we'd appreciate the support:

Disappointing news from Aberdeen: our senior management team rejected the proposal to end the dispute with the union THAT THEY HAD INVITED THE UNION TO PROPOSE.

Bad faith negotiating.

8 more days of strikes this week and next, and compulsory redundancies are a likely outcome.

All very shit here.

All that I've learned from the Scottish election campaign so far: never trust anyone called Malcolm.

Back to the barricades with union colleagues as we start TEN DAYS of strikes at the University of Aberdeen (gulp).

A fight worth fighting, and one we need to win.

But man alive its exhausting constantly having to battle management.

Thinking about inviting him to advise our senior management in the industrial dispute we're currently engaged with (on strike again tomorrow...).

Its certainly one of the problems. There are lots more though!

Calling JD Vance and Matt Goodwin...

After your incredible success in Hungary and elsewhere, can we invite you to come and campaign for Reform in upcoming elections here?

We'd love for you to jonah for them too.

I mean, he's no JD Vance Pope-killer, but its a decent scalp as well.

Well quite. Though presumably she'll be on the next one... where she'll also be against 5 men.

Its bullshit and more bullshit.

Makes watching St Johnstone look like watching Real Madrid by comparison.

Yes.

And as an owner of a blue suit, even I'm not thrilled.

Gave up on that years ago too.

Its perhaps particularly bad given the lack of diversity this time around.

But the quality is also really poor. They just talk louder to drown out any criticism.

I managed 10 mins of #BBCDN.

Honestly, I have no idea how 'normal' people (as in, people who don't 'do' politics for a living) can handle these things.

6 grown men with varying hairlines shouting over one another is not an edifying spectacle.

Such a tired format - surely there are better ways?

I know there are lots of other pressing concerns right now, but if anyone was minded to help support me & colleagues at Aberdeen by signing and sharing this open letter to our governing Court, I'd be tremendously grateful for your help:

Seems to me that c.70% of US and global problems would be lessened if someone hid Donald Trump's mobile phone.

Sure. Its always a challenge to manage the Greens (high %age but standing in few constituencies) when it comes to models.

I suppose I just meant if they narrowly missed, and everything else held, it would likely give the SNP scope to lose elsewhere and still possibly win a majority.

1 week ago 0 0 1 0

On that very question... how do we feel about the projected Green constituency wins? Not one, but two?

Presumably if they do not make that breakthrough, those might even be added to the SNP total?

1 week ago 1 0 1 0

I would have thought so. Presumably depends on LDs getting more than 5 seats...!

Any guesses on a new Presiding Officer on these figures?

Liam McArthur? Willie Rennie? Jackson Carlaw if he makes it?

First visit to a barber in 20+ years (usually just do it myself) but we're in Türkíye 🇹🇷 so I'm also (unusually) clean shaven.

Beard will be back next week, and I'll look my age again...!

I'm on holiday so I might have missed something, but have a selection of right wing lunatics started doing more to hold Trump to account than Congressional Democrats?

I feel sick to my stomach waiting around to see what atrocity Trump has in mind for the people of Iran this evening. It's hard to fathom our other elected leaders aren't able to check him in any meaningful way. It's an indictment not just of voters but of our whole system. We're ruled by a mad king.
