Almost bad to turn real human misery and trauma into a arena of spectacle. I think what drove medieval peasants to public hangings and white Southerners to lynchings is the same thing the underlines the appeal of true crime.

art is a process, not a product, if its bad or not is only part of the point

do you want to write? then write, quality is a secondary concern to the need of expression (and meditation, and mindless mark making, and so on) right?

things like snob, a person who doesn't engage with art because an underlining classist attitude, or gatekeeper, a person who challenges, often marginalized, people participation in a thing on the basis that shouldn't, into basically very basic engagement with art is fairly insidious imo)

(probably not going to win any friends with this take, but I really do this we should be suspicious of any kind of cultural take that encourages, even if its not the intent, mindless consumption over even pretentious engagement. The way so many useful terms have been warped to fit this framework...

And is a deliberate (if unthinking) attempt to flattening all art into a series of consumer choices that are flattering to the consumer, instead of just grappling with the mass of contradictions and complexities that make art worth the endeavour both as an artist and as an audience.

I think often about how the 'let people enjoy things' thought terminating truthism was been deployed, in quick succession, to defend AI slop and Rowling's hateful campaign, because the ultimately intellectual position upheld by 'let people enjoy things' is one that is inherently consumerist...

European countries are literally letting migrants drown in the Mediterranean sea. I'm sorry but this kind of pretend pragmatism is exactly why fascists and their billionaire funders are in power rn.

Being charismatic doesn't make for the continuity of policy he created between himself and Bush

I understand in the context you're reach for anything but, quite literally, this world doesn't exist as it does right now if Obama wasn't a neoliberal ghoul.

Conviction in Red, Redemption in Iron is a story about the life of a girl who survives a genocide and kills the world in the pursuit of her culture's role of a grudge-bearer, the only ritual she can preserve because it is the only one that doesn't need two people to oversee.

I feel like there is a plot and setting/theme divide here? Romance, horror, mystery (and to a lesser extent) all refer to what the story is doing. Literary fiction refers to how it is doing, and sff is about where ita happening. The latter 2 categories are much more expansive and less specific.

The top part of the Moon is illuminated. The gray cratered surface stands out against the blackness of space. The Earth appears in the far distance as an upside-down crescent moon shape. There is some lens flare in the top part and center of the image. Credit: NASA

(Oops just saw the typo, should read as 'not only ongoing'!)

I haven't looked at the data in a couple years (context i am Metis and also i have sociology degree, i had cousins go through the process of this policy) but the rate of separation between say five years ago and during the 60s scoop wasnt really that large or a difference

In Canada it went from formal policy during the 60s scoop to a largely informal policy that is carried by the foster care system. Native families are, by far, the most targeted group for child removal and compared to other groups, much less likely to be fostered with family or even the same culture

Absolutely zero reason justify your trite found family story by connecting it to a real (and I must repeated continuing) tragedy when the story you want to tell has almost zero to do with that tragedy.

Trying to create a found family narrative out of an agent of a 'evil' government agency and the people the government agency is meant to control in the context of a very real ethnic cleansing that is not ongoing but real people experienced is, at best, incredibly tone deaf

There is such a genuine rancid ideological horror lurking underneath so much of 'cozy' fantazy. Beyond the dubious truthism that escapism is not only good but necessary, so much reads like fiction for people who don't even know about difficult things. The Zone of Interest of literature.

I literally already answered that: by not naturalizing the deaths of Palestinians as a inevitable but unfortunate cost of doing American politics.

I then asked you what do you have to say to Palestinians who abstain from voting for their families executor, you didn't answer because you're a coward

That's not what I believe, and at not point did I state that was what I believed

You're a deeply dishonest person, did you know that?

Scroll up. I know you're desperate for someone to do your thinking for you, but I'm sure you'll figure it out.

That's actually a different question than the one you asked, which follows the pattern of expanding the scope of your question, a deeply dishonest practice lol
