Just finished hooking up the time meter (in the upper right corner) which, until now, has been purely decorative and totally non-functional. Now it will advance after a full round and will trigger the lighting changes.

Day 1 of #100DaysofGameDev 2
Starting over with the challenge. Honestly I knew December was not the right month to start this, I knew I'd be too busy with life but I didn't want to put it off.
Today I refactored the code for some attack types and things are taking shape!

Announced your game? Time to work on the demo! Demo out? Hurry up & flesh out the full game! Release day? Time to read reviews and push patches!
Oh, and donβt forget to announce your next game soon! Players have short memories, y'know ... ποΈπΒ #GameDev
I'm really disappointed, it's 2:35 AM and I've had about 20 minutes of sleep. I've finished my traveling for now but I have officially broken my #100DaysofGameDev commitment π£
Time for part 2 electric boogaloo baby! Tomorrow we start back up at day 1 of #100DaysofGameDev! #gamedev #indiedev #godot
Tomorrow is going to be really rough, after work I'm doing a 6 hour drive to a family wedding so idk how much progress ill be able to get done, but i'll do my best

At this rate I'll have some cool stuff to show off next week hopefully! #indiedev #gamedev #godot #roguelike
Day 17 of #100DaysofGameDev went great. Learned a lesson, when a bug is making no fucking sense, check other files lmao. I started recoding my attack types to work with all the changes I've made recently and its going really well. First test attack did like 610k damage lmao

Day 16 of #100daysofGameDev was productive, feeling better so I got to work setting up my battle system. Earlier I had my attacks prototyped out and since then I've written up some systems that need to interact with them, now I'm stitching everything together #gamedev #indiedev #godot #roguelike
Day 15 of #100daysofgamedev, I've been sick since I got home from work so I pushed myself to get in at least a little bit of code in, managed to do about an hours worth, went okay. Just trying to figure out now how to send data on a button press to the director, to then start a specific flow

I wanted to post this, back in my final year of university I made a little #roguelike in #unity that had procedurally generated dungeons. This is the map generating at runtime, all those rooms had randomly generated loot and enemies, and each green line is enemy pathfinding to the player.
My data analytics nerd side is coming out, python scripts to graph out my exponential scaling damage system, seeing how much damage the player will be doing at different chain levels is so cool. Its going to be so fun to see players get crazy damage with crazy combo chains

Day 14 of #100daysofgamedev done. Really quite happy with what I came up with for the elemental/status effect system. The effects are interesting and not even that hard to implement (in my head at least). Need to overhaul the minimal combat system i have already though lol. #indiedev #gamedev #godot
Absolutely it is, idk if it breaks the rules of the challenge or not but arbitrary rules dont matter as long as what you're working on is relevant to your project. 100days is about consistency, Building habits and learning skills, not doing bad work just to hit a quota
How did it turn out with you? And how much longer did it take compared to a typical piece? Did it feel any easier since you were basically tracing the animation? I've never done any kind of art more than doodling so I'm just curious about how viable this would be for me
Day 13 of #100DaysofGameDev sees a no code day, I'm not really sure how much that bends the rules but I'm taking liberties. I spent all day with game design problems, specifically status effects, elemental effects, and possible effects of items. #gamedev #indiedev #godot #roguelike
Appreciate the echo π
Hey #artist #gamedev #indiedev #godot; does anyone have any experience with using rotoscoping for #gameart? Really curious to use it for pixel art, I think it might make the process a little easier on someone like me with no developed art skills. Also anyone know/recommend Smack Studio?
Day 12 of #100DaysofGameDev and I ran into my first pain in the ass due to being too lazy to commit some code ππ. I recovered though, so no worries. Left off at a point that needs some game design work, so I'll work on that tomorrow morning #gamedev #indiedev
