Absolutely incredible.
NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone.
Watch with sound on.
Close up of large tabby cat looking exceptionally annoyed with what his humans are currently doing. Definitely judging you!

original meme by Earl; promotional photo of Worf with the Security yellow sections of his Starfleet uniform edited into a bright cyan-green-yellow-orange-pink tie-dye pattern, still wearing his Klingon baldric and communicator badge; behind him is an out-of-focus starfield with the white stars shifted to the same color palette
"Today is a good day to tie-dye."
this pink honeysuckle has a little umbrella so it can hang out with its moss friends
Nice new (peer-reviewed) analysis of the impact of satellite constellations on ground-based astronomical observations. By Olivier Hainault from @eso.org 🔭https://arxiv.org/abs/2604.09427
Darmok at Tenagra!
These are the NASA projects that the Trump regime are terminating. Some provide vital data to monitor the weather and climate of the planet. Many are already fully operational and are to be discarded.
I hate when fantasy films I made a long time ago begin to come true in real life.
Now would be a great time to reconsider that 46% cut to NASA’s science budget for FY2027.
Think we can just hide everything under the bed?
New paper just dropped on TOLIMAN, a small mission to look for Earth-size planets around our next door neighbor Alpha Centauri #TOLIMAN #alphacen #exoplanets #SPIE_JATIS 🔭🪐

and I had to pay $6.95 for the lost tape...
I've been looking for that!!
Great article on the state of NASA Science by Dr. Marvel (tldr: state is not good). www.nytimes.com/2026/04/08/o...
Easter Bunny at White House, seriously reevaluating life choices.
I took the German or Autistic diagnostic. Results: probably autistic. Wittgenstein would have gotten the same result. german.millermanschool.com
Trump's 2027 budget proposes cuts of:
🔻 $5.8 billion to NIH
🔻 $5.6 billion to NASA
🔻 $4.8 billion to NSF
🔻 $4.6 billion to EPA
🔻 $2.9 billion to CDC
🔻 $1.6 billion to NOAA
If these science cuts pass they will make the US a less healthy and less safe place to live.
For added perspective, Trump’s devastating cuts to US science equate to something like just 3 weeks of military spending due to war he started. (Seems like $1B a day or so is what’s been estimated for the war). So sure. Gut US science for a couple extra weeks of war…
I wrote about how the campaign against trans people in the United States is one of social murder.

The Supreme Court did not strike down conversion therapy bans today.
Not nationwide. Not in Colorado. Not anywhere.
Here's what actually happened in Chiles v. Salazar—and why the coverage you're seeing serves the conservative legal movement more than it serves you.
The Supreme Court just struck down Colorado's conversion therapy ban. They have now legalized the systematic torture of LGBTQ youth and invalidated the laws that protect them from this abuse.

(Of course, after I said it I realized that I’d been beaten to it by several other physicists. I should really look at the threads…)
Calling all physicists!
Caster Semenya is mounting a class action lawsuit against the Olympics for their patently discriminatory ban on trans and intersex athletes
But the world has billions of people, most with names… it’s ok if we have two (million?) planets named Jane Doe. We can use their address to send them mail (only half insincere)
The IOC has announced a trans and intersex athlete ban requiring an invasive SRY genetic test for female athletes.
In the 20+ years trans women were eligible, only one ever competed and none ever medaled. This is solving for a problem that doesn't exist.
