I am sorry to inform you that they broke down and scored a bunch.

"our leadership has remained conspicuously silent when faculty members — disproportionately women and faculty of color — have had their scholarship and qualifications impugned by members of Congress and by right-wing outlets like Fox News..."

Two days to this discussion on labor rights in higher education, with two professors and union organizers from St. John's University's branch of @aaup.org, a professor at BMCC, and the vice-president of the newly recognized faculty union at @michiganstateu.bsky.social. Please join us this Tuesday!
I am good with the nominations for two of those schools.
I don’t think this Yale Report will be as remembered as the 1828 one, though maybe it will be as misremembered
Yes. It reads as very insular.
I wish I could like this more than once.
That is why we ask in April...
Uh oh!
5+ P/T reviews sounds like a lot (so, thank you). I worry about asks going out past mid-April as potential reviewers might have already said yes to 2-3 and might decline the rest.
Students are standing with the faculty & staff at UIS because they see who’s fighting for them. It’s time for Chancellor Gooch to come to the table & negotiate a fair contract! www.wcia.com/news/sangamo...
If you want to be focused on the next big higher ed problem, you want to be following accreditation news (and Eric is one of my go to sources for that info)

USC v. UCLA. It reads like a rivalry game...
When you have senior white male military officers willing to end their career by raising concerns about the blocking of Black and female officers, it feels safe to say this isn't about ending DEI: the better historical parallel is Wilson's resegregation of the bureaucracy

I don't know what the data would look like. Things like citation H-indexes make no sense for people who do what I do. There are real challenges for historians and philosophers of education who work in Ed Schools alongside ed psych and other folks. I don't know impact, so I assess quality by reading.
Congrats, Dan
I get that. It was a long day, but appreciate you being here and contributing your ideas.
I wasn’t worried (the pacing was for exercise)
TBH, right now I am not feeling great
Literally?
Hmmm.
Actually, it would not surprise me. LSU won by 16 in December...
Nope
Duke never won a national championship until Grant Hill and I got there. But we got it done. Twice.
I have heard but I have not listened. I listen when you talk about Pell, debt, access, equity, etc. You know a lot about those things.
Dan, I have known you for years and I have heard you say a lot of edgy things. As a graduate of both Duke and Michigan, I am not sure I have ever heard you say anything as explicitly offensive (except for the UNC part--I fully support UNC being eliminated).
With one game, I think it is just ajar.
I will try to do better the next time.
If you are in Oklahoma, join us as we fight for the future of tenure in the state!!! @aaup.org
