Honestly it can happen anytime. When i was 19 I accidentally pinched a nerve in my back and was in unbearable pain for like 2 weeks. Like it sucks on its own, but how it affects sleep is the worst.

Could do a panning aquarium, with the top 3rd of the screen being the water surface, where pokemon like suicine and surskit walk on top. Could have greninja and urshifu running on top also. Maybe some partially submersed swiming with their heads out

I’m imagining palkia in the middle of the piece creating a singularity, and all the other’s swimming around its perimeter haha

So, it’s trying to move people from hyper-fixating on the simplistic comfort narratives, and have them intake of more complex ones with differently engaging (and possibly uncomfortable) perspectives. That way they can build a stronger sense of contrast and depth in their work. That makes sense!

Apologies on any confusion on my part also, I’m genuinely really intrigued with what you are saying, but just trying to understand the metaphors in their entirety.

So is it more a statement towards children’s media and animation that leans towards more saccharin tones/styles? And by bitterness are you meaning things more intense or niche, that lean towards heaviness in terms of complexity? How do you feel about things like Made in Abyss or NGE in those cases?

Out of curiosity, what are the particular themes you feel give more complexity and nuance in writing? I’m curious what you feel are devoid in creations made by writers that focus too much on referencing animation narratives in their work?
