I'd probably say it's on par at best, depending on the controller's condition. Once the controller is updated via firmware, it connects specifically via Bluetooth LE, so it might not work with older hardware that doesn't support LE mode. It's worth it if you can find a good discount

I never used Stadia as a service, but a few months ago I bought a controller used on eBay for around $10 plus shipping. Putting aside the fact that it was a pain to disassemble and clean, it's actually a really solid controller once it's had the Bluetooth patch installed.

Google has once again extended the deadline to convert the Stadia Controller to Bluetooth mode for another year (Dec 31, 2025). Originally it was only supposed to be available until Dec 31, 2023 stadia.google.com/controller/
