I am fairly confident that the fact I had being working 30-40 hour weeks for two years by the time I turned 18, mostly in restaurants and doing farm labor, explains a lot differences in my perceptions of this job vs some others’ perceptions.

Also the correct comparison imo is to the $37,500 median income for high school only. Unless someone wants to get into a specific career with specific requirements, getting a BA/BS is what matters for earning capacity, not the specific major
