It's an excellent article, how true is this?
"In a Scottish context, much of the Holyrood debate is centred around the banality of potholes or desperate efforts to “Stop the SNP” (at literally any cost). It feels suffocating in its narrowness, bitterness and negativity."

Classic Trumpian mistake, in his desperation to be the big guy, the principled statesman, Sarwar forgets the grubby deals he's done in the hope of winning power. Lashing out at Reform in public while cosying up privately was never going to work - is he really that stupid?

"the fundamental populist narrative: the creation of a rolling series of imaginary crises....It was about a story line of grievance and victimhood, a constant attempt to pitch citizen against citizen"

And maybe Anas Sarwar should read this before the next debate so he can explain how his plans to fix our NHS differ from UK labour and what those private health donations to MPs/MSPs are really for www.theguardian.com/society/2026...
I think Anas should have a read of this and then explain how his plans to "fix" the SNHS differ from UK labour www.theguardian.com/society/2026...
That's what I heard
Lewis, in your discussion with Abe you said your understanding was that no matter what the Scottish people vote for or how many times, "we will not give" them a referendum. Can you explain who this "we" is and can you see why many Scots feel like Scotland is a colony in an English dominated union?
Wes Streeting's devolution - vote the way we want you to, we will ignore you if you vote differently because our aims are more important. Devolution works fine as long as you do what you're told? His 2 yrs as health minister can't be compared to the SNPs 25 yrs - we suffered from tory choices too

top 2 stories this morning - Comparing Scottish NHS with rest of UK (badly written with no clear comparison made) and the removal of the 2 child cap which manages not to mention the SNPs longterm opposition at all or Labours acceptance of keeping the cap. Thank goodness we have other sources to use
an energy expert reveals electricity bills are higher in Scotland despite our renewable generation because England imports gas to generate much of its electricity. This fact - broadcast on Radio Scotland in 2022 - is being suppressed by the BritNat media. 👇
As BBC Radio Scotland spends another morning complaining about ferries, how about sharing this for some balance? I think there's a phone in now if anyone is free to call in and set them right
Great speeches - believe in ourselves, work together to make Scotland and the world a better place, outward looking
Great setting - crowd shots on the High St, panoramic views on Calton Hill, sense of history
Great people - speakers, performers, organisers, stewards, bikers and marchers
Great day!
They had to wait to get a statement from each of the opposition parties for "balance". Thank god we have so many ways of getting info beyond the BBC now - lots of FB and Bluesky pics, several articles in the National, discussion on Full Scottish (Broadcasting Scotland) and I'm sure other sites too
We have been telling the world about this bias for some time in Scotland but it was ignored by UK parties until it started happening to them. Apparently it's about balance - yesterday's report on the march in Edinburgh had to wait till they got statements from each of the opposition parties.
