GPT-5 is underwhelming. It works fine, but it's not the massive step forward that it was billed to be.

I am happy co-pilot (github) is offering 5 mini for the included cost (I see it in VS code but not in Visual Studio yet). 4.1 (the previous included model) was mediocre at best.

I just want to say. The amount of 80s VHS tape that you have digitized for shit posting is of epic proportions.

Republicans are feckless cowards. Gone is the party of Lincoln and Eisenhower. We're left with the lowest common denominator voted in by the lowest common denominator. Maybe if their kids go to war they'll learn a lesson. Probably not though.

We're governed by idiots voted in by idiots. This is a crash course in how to destroy. Let's make vaccines illegal now and ban education.

There's no point in conversing with bad faith actors because it's not a serious conversation with someone of good intent.

I don't deal liars in my personal life, why would I want to deal with liars in my online life?

Here's the thing, when there are two sides and the other side isn't a good faith actor there's no point in conversing with them. The right wing isn't the party of Eisenhower anymore. No argument they've made in the last 20 years has been in good faith.

Sure. Hard fire to extinguish, definitely don't want to roast you marshmallows on it.

The Democrats love to do this "let's research what centrists want" every 10 years like it's some new idea and every-time they throw lots of money at it and the fail by all measures. They're Charlie Brown and the football.

Maybe not to the moon yet, his rockets are still blowing up frequently.

I can't tell if this is serious or if it's drug addled theater.

If he gave a fuck about state of the US economy he wouldn't have helped drive it off the cliff. This entire fiasco is a lesson in how if you're born with enough money you fail upwards (to the moon ๐Ÿš€).

The words of a good faith actor no doubt.

"The company said it was looking to flatten management layers, but data from the state showed mostly non-managers were affected."

WinUI3 for C++, but it may end up on the trash heap (I guess MFC is an option). I'd go with WPF, it will probably outlive us all now that it's on .NET Core. Dot Net cores attention to performance narrows the gap in performance if you take care of it.

Blue sky isn't dying. It's a seeded message from people who want it to die. Propaganda.

"Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
The battle outside ragin'
Will soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'"

This is why I stopped answering and asking questions. I was in the top 20% or answerers but couldn't ask any question without getting it closed.

One cool as blog though was Nick Craver talking about what hardware ran stack overflow. The whole damn site was like two SQL servers, a few caching servers and few web servers.

I use Dapper (stack overflow library) daily.

I still end up there frequently but I stopped answering questions after I realized any question I asked would get closed by some asshole moderator re: some pedantic rule enforcement.

They moderated their site into decline.

Wasn't that thing like a Commodore 64 with a built in tape cassette system? Cassette loading was like watching paint dry.
