Separatism isn’t new in AB. & it’s not something to trivialize. I appreciated this conversation on it with Stéphane Dion & the good folks at the Pearson Centre—have a listen. thepearsoncentre.ca/canadian-unity-the-clari...

The best news I've read in a long time.
Elections Alberta is demanding answers from the Alberta Prosperity Project on compliance with initiative petition financing rules - and doing so now rather than waiting until the petition papers are handed in.
Kudos Elections Alberta.

I work in IT, which is the reason our house has:
- mechanical locks
- mechanical windows
- routers using OpenWRT
- no smart home crap
- no Alexa/Google Assistant/...
- no internet connected thermostats
Tech Enthusiasts: Everything in my house is wired to the Internet of Things! I control it all from my smartphone! My smart-house is bluetooth enabled and I can give it voice commands via alexa! ! love the future!
Programmers/ Engineers: The most recent piece of technology I own is a printer from 2004 and keep a loaded gun ready to shoot it if it ever makes an unexpected noise.

I don’t think we talk nearly enough about the fact that corporations like Amazon, don’t pay a single cent to maintain the roads they use, the transportation system they use, the courts they use, they pay nothing for the infrastructure that is absolutely critical to their business.

8/13 Commissioner Hale systematically dismantled this defense.

She pointed out that the APP formally incorporated under the provincial Societies Act on January 26. The official filings list Sylvestre as the chair and Rath himself as a director.

3/13 Lawyers for the election commissioner are scheduled for an Edmonton court on Monday.

Their goal is to secure an injunction forcing the APP to show exactly where its funding is coming from, how it’s being spent, and to halt all further advertising until they comply.

It costs the City of Ottawa $465/person each year to serve new low-density homes, over & above what it receives from property taxes/fees.

On the other hand, high-density infill such as apartment buildings pays for itself plus an extra $606/person each year.

Reading Poilievre’s statement he seems to believe Mark Carney was the only person to sign the MOU #CDNpoli #ABpoli

I thought the Premier of Alberta had agreed to the terms in the MOU, and that she had agreed to find a company interested in building a pipeline. I also believed that “polluter pay” meant taxpayers aren’t on the hook for costs of oil and gas production including costs of pollution.
