๐จ #CCN2026 Proceedings submissions are open!
CCN 2026 again features an 8-page Proceedings track (alongside extended abstracts). Accepted papers will appear in CCN-Proceedings (CCNโP) with DOIs on OpenReview.
I have a PhD opening for my #VIDI BrainShorts project ๐ฝ๏ธ๐ง ๐ค! Are you or do you know an ambitious, recent (or almost) MSc graduate with a background in NeuroAI and interest in large-scale data collection and video perception? Check out our vacancy! (deadline Feb 15).

Check this out - yesterday I was on Dutch national television to discuss the intersection between #AI and the #brain, how we are addressing the fundamental questions there @uva.nl, and how we plan to tackle video understanding in my #NWO #VIDI project next! ๐ง ๐ค๐ฝ๏ธ

Great news, congratulations and good luck!!
On the train to Brussels, towards the biannual NeuroCog meeting, whose theme this edition is โAI and the brainโ

Prepping my talk and looking forward to learning about exciting new research and immersing myself in some good discussions in the next two days!
๐ฃ New preprint by a stellar team ๐คฉ
Iโm most excited by โphase IIIโ in the alignment time course, which is best captured by mid-layers of temporally integrating video models! While we do not directly compare with image-EEG (yet - will do so in the #VIDI) I suspect this is unique to video vision ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Pleased to share that our survey "Getting aligned on representational alignment" โ on representational alignment across cognitive (neuro)science and machine learning โ is now published in TMLR! openreview.net/forum?id=Hiq...
Kudos to @sucholutsky.bsky.social @lukasmut.bsky.social for leading this!
Honoured to receive an NWO #VIDI grant to study 'the TikTok Brain': representational alignment of brains and deep nets for #video! I'm hugely thankful to the anonymous reviewers for their enthusiasm and for the opportunity to grow and sustain my lab. Job ads coming soon!

Our exciting new preprint emphasizing the role of texture/local statistics in brain-DNN alignment (for EEG), online now!
Honored & looking forward to give this lecture tomorrow @ucl-neuroai.bsky.social!
๐ข 10 days left to submit to the Data on the Brain & Mind Workshop at #NeurIPS2025!
๐ Call for:
โข Findings (4 or 8 pages)
โข Tutorials
If youโre submitting to ICLR or NeurIPS, consider submitting here tooโand highlight how to use a cog neuro dataset in our tutorial track!

Somewhat exhausted but very happily and proudly looking back at #CCN2025 & ready to pass the torch to NEW Amsterdam for #CCN2026 ๐ฅณPlease fill out the survey ๐ to give input to the organizing team led by @neurograce.bsky.social and @toddgureckis.bsky.social @NYU!
Final day of CCN 2025! ๐ Ellie Pavlick opens with a keynote on neural compositionality, we have our last contributed talks and poster session, then Pieter Roelfsema gives the last keynote of the conference. Thread below ๐
Youโre welcome to do a surprise act Sush ๐

Iโve had 40 birthdays so far, but this is the first one chairing a major international conference ๐ฉโ๐ป! Thanks to the nearly 1000 attendees of #CCN2025 for coming to my birthday this year ๐
Lots of talks on Thursday of CCN 2025! ๐๏ธ David Poeppel's keynote, four contributed talk sessions, three K&T tracks, and tonight's social event. Details in thread ๐
Welcome to the second day of #CCN2025 ! ๐Today we have Yasuo Kuniyoshi's keynote on embodiment, four parallel community events, and our GAC debate sessions. More details in the thread below ๐
Welcome to the first day of #CCN2025 ! ๐ง Today, we're starting with networking, opening remarks, and two fantastic keynotes from Nancy Kanwisher and Anna Schapiro. More details in the thread below ๐
#CCN2025, weโre ready for you!
The moment we've all been waiting forโ #CCN2025 is HERE! Today we start with satellite events, and tomorrow the main conference begins in Amsterdam! We'll be sharing daily updates about each day's program, so follow the CCN account to stay in the loop. Can't wait to see everyone!
All together a diverse set of studies, grouped around the central question of how human-aligned deep neural networks are, and how we can use them to learn more about the brain! Looking forward to discuss, hearing your thoughts, and to an exciting and immersive week full of science ahead ๐๐ง ๐ค๐งโ๐ป๐๐๐ฅณ
Finally, Otto Mรกrton, an MSc student in the lab, shows small but consistent benefits of DNNs with hyperbolic geometry for capturing human representations of objects in behavior (using THINGS) and the brain (THINGS-EEG and NSD) 2025.ccneuro.org/poster/?id=b... Poster C109, 14:00-17:00.
On Friday, niklasmuller.bsky.social shows that estimating population receptive fields (pRF) using DNN feature maps but without assuming a Gaussian pRF shape yields better predictions of THINGS ephys data, uncovering surprising pRF geometries! 2025.ccneuro.org/poster/?id=1... Poster C105, 14:00-17:00
Next, on Wednesday, another Proceedings paper by Amber Brands, showing that PredNet, a well-known predictive coding DNN, does not exhibit signatures of short-term adaptation that are ubiquitous in the brain, such as repetition suppression 2025.ccneuro.org/poster/?id=y... Poster B131, 13:00-16:00
In the EEG study, accepted as Proceedings, we replicate these findings in the temporal domain, showing unique processing of locomotive affordances around 200 ms, which is independent of object or GIST features, and not well captured by DNNs 2025.ccneuro.org/poster/?id=6... Poster A69, 13:30-16:30
