Maybe it is time for a good turn-based rpg. After being in a funk myself, I find going for games with a strong narrative, helps. Don’t laugh at me: the game that got me out of my funk - and it took 3-4 attempts previously since releasing is… BG3. I wonder which game will be the right one for you?

The Monster Train 2 DLC is very good: the Railforged, a challenging new mode, and a mechanical spider factory Destiny of the Railforged adds juiced enemies, steampunk robots that can smelt cards, and a handy claw machine.

Destiny of the Railforged deserves way more attention. Read @elahti.bsky.social ’s excellent review to see how sharp this DLC is, though without a clear score it’s harder to fully champion it the way it deserves.

That makes two of us. I suspect that it might not be met objectively with most critics though. Still, there is always hope!

I feel that too, but I also think this one still deserves to be judged on its own terms, especially because other creatives had to step into the space left at ZA/UM after Kurvitz and the others moved on. The challenge is if we can remain objective after everything that has happened. We should try.
