We, the elected members, can't control what the CEO does. I would prefer if he worked with us in a more transparent way but he is what he is. For the sake of all Dubliners, I hope he manages to pull both these projects off, but if he doesn't, the failure will be his legacy.

Simon Harris distances himself from Varadkar comments that farmers ‘bring costs on Ireland’ Fine Gael leader Simon Harris has sought to distance himself from comments by his predecessor, Leo Varadkar, who described farmers as a “cost on Ireland”.

Leo did put his foot in it, many all over are under econonic pressure - his perspective is not useful, Harris is right, not a time for more division

What an odd article about a pro-Palestinian group using Dublin's Herzog Park, with the aim of offending the local Jewish community.

The last time there was a systematic firebombing campaign against synagogues was organised by the National Socialist Movement in the 1960s.

The fact that this latest campaign is inspired by Islamist ideology should not be an excuse to offer no support and solidarity to the Jewish community

After the latest Mandelson revelations, Starmer needs to get a good lawyer. Wasn’t he supposed to be one? | Jonathan Freedland If only the PM had been the process-obsessed technocrat he was once painted as, this disaster wouldn’t have happened – and he wouldn’t be on the brink, says Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland

Saying no is not Simon Harris’s favourite part of the job

Prudence in a time of crisis?

Principal complaint of the Opposition this week is that the Government did not give the protesters more of what they wanted, and give it quicker!

Jennifer Horgan: We have set a new standard for what angry men can achieve. It's terrifying Angry men's blockades stopped my mother being with her dying brother-in-law last week. She was not the only vulnerable person whose needs were trampled on

Angry men, we've had enough.
These men “attempted to shut down the country and most crucially restrict ordinary citizens' movement. That is not peaceful and is not targeted. It's bullying of another victim group, your fellow citizens.”
