We, the elected members, can't control what the CEO does. I would prefer if he worked with us in a more transparent way but he is what he is. For the sake of all Dubliners, I hope he manages to pull both these projects off, but if he doesn't, the failure will be his legacy.

What an odd article about a pro-Palestinian group using Dublin's Herzog Park, with the aim of offending the local Jewish community.

The last time there was a systematic firebombing campaign against synagogues was organised by the National Socialist Movement in the 1960s.
The fact that this latest campaign is inspired by Islamist ideology should not be an excuse to offer no support and solidarity to the Jewish community
There have been two attempted firebombings of synagogues in the past week as well as the arson attack on Jewish ambulances which served the whole community
The British left’s abandonment of its Jewish community during the worst upsurge in antisemitism for generations is utterly shameful

Hezbollah v. UNIFIL?
Hezbollah attacks in southern Lebanon resulted in the deaths of one French and three Indonesian UNIFIL peacekeepers this month. Add the 2022 killing of Irish soldier Seán Rooney by Hezbollah to the list.

These men “attempted to shut down the country and most crucially restrict ordinary citizens' movement. That is not peaceful and is not targeted. It's bullying of another victim group, your fellow citizens.”

Sooner Dublin gets a Mayor for Dublin the better!
No vote on leaving Wood Quay, or purchase of site for new Council HQ?
I don't think they will get a vote on that.
When will Councillors vote on a move from Wood Quay?
Councillors dug into a plan for €3.88 billion in spending on projects in the city, during their monthly meeting Monday. Flagship projects include a new HQ for Dublin City Council, the redevelopment of Dalymount Park, and the refurbishment of the Fruit and Vegetable Market.
When will Councillors vote on a move from Wood Quay?
How can Councillors be baffled, it's their job to know?
Councillors say they are “baffled” by a lack of council plans to follow through on the revamp of Clonsilla. A year ago, after much work, the council published a plan for how to revitalise the village. “I’m wondering why we all went to the bother, to be honest.”
