I think if we got him into an assisted living apartment he may have maintained a bit more of his spark. He faded so fast in the facility, even though he was there for over a year. But each person is an individual, and you have to present the options and respect their wishes.

I maintained my grandfather's house and visited him every day in the proper medical rehab/retirement home. He just got a shared room and he had to eat in a cafeteria. He wanted to move home so he would never agree to move into an apartment situation. It was so sad on the days I couldn't see him.

medical staff. It's basically a retirement home, but the care amount varies wildly. A single senior can live there mostly in peace, but they have levels of medical services for people with lower levels of independence. Most of these places have a nursing staff and an on call doctor like a rest home.

Got power of attorney. Paid all his bills at his house and kept it ready in case they would let him out. He never gained back enough mobility to get home. But my granddad was over 90! Slightly more mobile people would benefit possibly from Independent living apartments that have full time...

I'd never announce if I was unsubbing, so weird. Telling the person they are leaving because stuff is different doesn't really mean anything! It means that if the creator takes it to heart and goes "back to how they were" you won't be notified of it! Just a hollow gesture. Love your new stuff btw.
