Correct. I live here in the central coast of CA, and we are very much not LA. Here is the local sentiment.

Ohhhhhh I just missed it or didn’t connect that that picture was that monster. Well either way great interpretation!

I was wondering where you’d go with this one because as far as I can tell, there’s no description of the Mohler anywhere other than being vaguely mole like maybe?

Love the direction you went if it was purely your design.

Agreed. Most people want a wizard-y class that has more spells than other classes and lots of out of combat utility spells. And that’s just not what MCDM wants a class to be able to do. If the desire is a purely arcane class, Elementalist or Necromancer can fit that.

Very biased but Draw Steel sounds perfect for what you are wanting. It does adventuring and combat extremely well. Combat is easy to run as a GM and maybe the easiest I've ever seen for throwing together an improvised combat. It's so easy to encounter build on the fly.

Definitely a good plan. In my original comment I wasn’t even thinking about crack the sun, though that would be cool. I just meant if you’re trying to decide between two equally cool classes to review and one is $5 and the other is $25, prioritize the $25 one.

If your goal is to provide viewers an idea of what they’d be buying, I recommend reviewing the more expensive products regardless of content type. The bigger the money commitment is, the more likely I am to look up a review before buying it to see if it’s worth it.

Ya I feel you. I really want to GM an in-person Draw Steel game where I live and I'm having trouble finding enough for a full game. I probably just need to be broadcasting my desire out loud to more people.

If only this wasn’t during my workday. Hope it’s a blast!

Draw Steel’s combat can definitely shine at a demo or a quick session. But many of its systems aren’t easily appreciated until you’ve played through an adventure or 2 (like 5-10 sessions).

As a first time creator, my goal was 75th. I got 79th but was #32 in writing which I’m proud of. Next Jam, I’ll try and focus on mechanics.

Thanks so much to everyone who put so much time into reviewing each entry.

Adam Neely’s most recent video on Suno and AI music is so good. Highly recommend it.

Ya that part is fair. If you don't like the battle commander aspect, it might not be fun for you. Fury is definitely pure warrior but it leans into fighting on a knife's edge pretty hard which also may not be the vibe you are looking for for a particular character. 3rd party/homebrew might an option

I thought the tactician being able to use 2 kits and take the best parts of both makes it feel like a weapon master. Or does that not feel like the right flavor?

It’s entirely possible to play DnD for years and spend no additional money and not support Hasbro after buying core rules over 10 years ago. Don’t think it’s right to tell a group like that they can’t have fun their way. Don’t play DnD and don’t pay Hasbro are not the same thing.

Now I gotta know what took up 60 slides in a PowerPoint.

I get wanting to make your own characters, but it sucks they would just ignore your request to use the pregens. Especially because the pregens are really cool and the whole tutorial doles out parts of the character a little at a time. My cousins at Christmas liked their pregens. Sorry friend.

I am now very excited to see the rest of your dwarves.

Are you stretching it outside the normal 2 turn limit? What’s it about?

2 months ago 1 0 1 0

My biggest need would be NPCs who appear in the encounters because that's where I use tokens the most. From my quick passover of the encounter book, that would include the following named NPCs

Violet
Gilded Hand rivals
Dame Cornelia
Brune
Saberna (optional)
Laesi
Vurkor
Oleq
Queen Bargnot

I'll use any NPC you want to draw for sure. In future games, I'll probably just pick a couple of the ones you make to be my generic "civilian" tokens.

As always, thanks for your awesome work and creativity!

Reasonable take. When I think of a combat simulator, I think more like Gloomhaven. Draw Steel still fills that DnD-style game I want to play, but with more enjoyable rules (for me): lots of combat, but still the space for and mechanics supporting narrative/fiction. But ya, not narrative-first

It makes me think of the first Solasta game arguing with the council. I can definitely see it also being useful for when you have a big city that is more democratic instead of just being able to negotiate with a central leader. Or like a city run by a merchants guild with different representatives.

2 months ago 2 0 1 0

Cool idea! Interesting to think they could gain interest in the negotiation but still piss off a certain NPC or faction that could cause trouble later. Or just having the party have to manage the relationship with a particular NPC they want to stay friendly with on top of normal negotiation stuff

Love your writing style. Even if you don’t get to it by the time the judges finish, would love to hear your thoughts on my ice people race (Jun-ta) if you ever have the time.

Love this. Can’t wait for more.

Can’t wait to download them all and see what design choices the people who made similar ancestries made differently.

Also interested to see if there were any design choices that appear multiple times in very different ideas.
