In the middle of William Payton's tenor as Starman. Really liking it. He stands out a lot in late 80s DC, with him being very social and quick to understand how overwhelming the world is while being aware enough to understand when he messed up.

Yeah, this is all a lead-up to a reread of it.

Starman 80 did not get a pitch one shot like almost every other character did in this period in DC's history.

Yet got a full year in a co-starring role in a book with Plastic Man and later Aquaman.

This is...the perfect example of how out of touch DC after the DC Implosion. How did Gavyn get 12 issues to tell the same boring story but extended to an entire year? How did they think this could compete with Rom? Genuinely one of DC's lowest points.
