I definitely venture out of my genre quite often, I think there’s a lot to learn and take from reading a well rounded variety. Not to mention it’s more fun that way ☺️

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.

AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.

This Christmas Party Was So Fun That Now I’m a Communist - If you had guessed there would be a fortuneteller at this party you would have been dead wrong. Because there were two fortunetellers at this party.

This was such an amazing read that I wanted to share it here. This author managed to express the feelings that have been culminating in me for years, in better words than I could formulate on my own.

Saw this the other day -

“If you ever worry that you don’t have what it takes to be a writer, you were born to be one. Normal people literally never think about writing.”.

And that just made some things click.

Out: Write drunk edit sober

In: think about writing to the point of obsession while drunk but be incapable of crafting a coherent sentence and then shut down after getting no work done and then wake up the next morning with no recollection of any ideas you had the night before

Sometimes it helps me to act out the scene myself (even if it's not out loud), giving each character a voice and flow really helps me out!

Writing is fine. It's literally the most embarrassing thing on earth to put yourself on full display for rejection or validation, but it's fine. I enjoy it. I find it therapeutic to set myself on fire.

I’ve only read a little but it’s great so far, can’t wait to finish it! :) I used to vacation in Tawas every summer and have visited that exact spot many times myself, super neat to see it set there.

Do Not Comply In Advance: bossy, already a cliche, implies permission to comply later

Fuck You, Make Me: leads by example, directs yelling at opposition instead of allies, easy to chant at a protest or put on a banner
