Love the article (of course we would). And while it's not an original, we have recreated an AM broadcast of a Phillies game from 1950 for the podcast (and on YouTube) if you want a blast of new and nostalgia. youtu.be/JSFJSiNiEQY

Welcome to The Show, perfect example why we need heroes and individuals promoted, as well as teams. New and international fans are the lifeblood.

Promotional card for a podcast. It says "Sparky Lyle will redefine what it means to be a closing pitcher, but today The Red Sox have put him in during a tense tenth inning. Will this be the first win for the rookie?"

Along with Rollie Fingers, Sparky Lyle defined the role of a closing pitcher. That's after many years of establishing himself in the majors. Our latest AM radio recreation of the Angels at Red Sox will see him put on the mound in the bottom of the tenth. Could this be the first win for the rookie?

Once more, the colour that radio can bring out, the extra emotions, and the texture, unlike anything else in US sports commentary.

As well as the general delay that you get with streaming services, even the old fashioned AM/FM broadcasts are getting delayed now, I think it's around 10 seconds on TV/Radio so (seesh) they can't be used to second guess if an ABS call should be made. So much for getting synced radio in the ballpark

To be fair, the entire Giants broadcast crew is Grade A. Miller has his HoF award already... I'd love to see Kuip and Kruk get in as a pair before they retire.

This is a pretty good visual on the margin of error on ABS measurements. My head is taking the 0.4 inch figure into any discussion. Frankly, anything less that 0.4 and it's "Call Stands" for me.

Yep, tracked down Brockmire, and Azaria shows all the fundamentals perfectly - find your rhythm, broadcast the ball, and get the count right.
