Absolutely horrific, unfathomable news. Whenever our paths crossed back in the day, Patrick would always greet me with a huge smile and a big hug. An absolute gentleman. My heart goes out to his family.

Does anyone actually use Serializd?

I’ve decided 2026 is the year I start using these apps because I get to December and have completely forgotten what came out the previous March.

And the casting involved in said group is just so mad. Genuinely, it’s good fun. You should give it a go and see what you think.

Mostly, yeah. I won’t spoil anything, but they don’t dwell on the first comeback season that much after the first couple of episodes. And they explain anything important anyway so you would be fine to jump in.

But, yeah, I’m the same as you with the new one. I started it out of stupid obligation where I have to watch everything Dexter-related and spent the first couple of episodes waiting for it to fall off a cliff, but it just hasn’t. And I now look forward to watching it every Friday.

As funny as it is to watch them try and make Christian Slater look like a young, hotshot cop, you made the right call skipping it. It was a struggle getting to the end.

Expectations were incredibly low given how absolutely dreadful the prequel was. On par with some of the absolute Dexter dross. But, again, this has just been great fun. Hopefully they stick the landing…

8 episodes into the new Dexter and I’m having so much fun with it. And it’s not just oodles of nostalgia. That’s there, obviously, but putting him in New York with his group of “WHAT ARE THEY DOING IN THIS PROGRAMME” not-pals has added so much too.

A few life things have popped up that have had to take precedence for us, but we will be back sooner than later! I can't give you a date, but potentially October, if everything goes to plan.

Does the definitive, essential Batman story include the singer from James?

We've had a few life things that have had to take precedence, so that's postponed it coming back by a little bit. We will be back, though. But hard to say when right now. Potentially October, maybe? We'll post something about it on here when we're back up!

Finally put on the first episode of the new Dexter, absolutely furious at myself that I can’t shake the Michael C. Halls. Especially true after that dreadful prequel series.

(SPOILER FOR THE FIRST 18 SECONDS)

Lithgow says “Hello, Dexter Morgan” and I’m opening my gob, ready to inhale the slop.

Dredd has wrestled with the power of judges sometimes* and he’ll occasionally push back against certain rulings or established things within the city. But, as you know from the Karl Urban movie, the closest thing he has to a catchphrase is “I am the law,” so he does often end up following it.

It doesn’t, really. There’s almost 50 years to pull from, and some of those stories definitely have loads of humour. But at its core, Mega-City One is a police state and Dredd is the no 1 best cop that all other judges aspire to be. He’s not a hero. It just doesn’t fit Waititi’s vibe.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing another Rob Schneider type pop up and play the best friend in this one too.

There is plenty of levity in Mega-City One. But THERE HAS TO BE because it’s a relentlessly horrible place. The judges are NOT funny. The justice department is NOT funny. Dredd is NOT funny.

Sunset Overdrive key art

Apropos of nothing, been thinking about how the mention of Sunset Overdrive conjures up strong feelings for those that played it, over ten years later. There are a lot of games from that era that made much more money and are far less memorable.

Longing for the day when the standing ovation goes longer than the movie’s runtime. Then we’ll know the people in the room actually liked it.

Your dream. The one role over everything else. Nothing would beat that. It’s the number one. All those years in Juilliard, all for one reason. Creature in the Well was a wonderful pinball-infused hack and slash game from a few years ago. Your sword is basically a portable flipper, and you fire balls at bumpers in a room, destroy all of them, and then move onto the next room. It's great fun. store.steampowered.com/app/852300/C...
