I remember being aged 6, seeing that cover, and thinking it was some amazing story about a giant planet-eating snake!
Imagine my disappointment on seeing the actual story!
(My least favourite Davo story, and the only one I never bothered buying the VHS of!)

Just finished listening to "The Destruction of Time"... this has to be a contender for the most intense and brutal episode of Dr Who there is, surely?!
Amazing listen. And a properly epic end to the story.
Finished Reign of Terror!
2nd time I've watched animated eps; they're pretty good & do lift the story, as most of the action is in the 2nd half.
I like Susan, but this is an absolute low point for her!
Lacks the quality of other Hartnell historicals, but better than I remembered.
This time next week, Doctor Who fans.

The music in Reign is really all over the shop.

The eye of Orion
I absolutely love the start of Reign of Terror part 6, where everyone just stands around awkwardly because they know the titles have to play out! ๐

We've talked occasionally about telling the full story about this con on 42 To Doomsday, but, probably safest we don't!
Now that @thedwshow.net ep on Children of Earth has been out for a while I ask...
...Was the whole point of team Torchwood that they actually WERE kinda useless, leading inevitably to them begging for 4 eps to confront the alien, & then messing it up spectacularly when they do?
From my visit to the Conciergerie prison in 2023, as part of my quest to visit the settings of all the 1960s historicals.
One of the very good ones!

Now listened to all of @flightthroughentirety.com's 500 Yr Diary on Children of Earth.
I certainly agree it's probably the best collective thing RTD made in the Dr Who suite.
Some perspectives I hadn't considered before.
So a very interesting listen.
Cyberwomen meets 50% of the criteria for camp classic.
@toohot4tv.bsky.social also tackles Red Dwarf Back to Earth.
I hated it because in the whole 3 eps I laughed only once!
There's a real syndrome where SitCom writers decide they want to write drama, & turn their shows all serious. And not funny. Happened here with Red Dwarf.

Interesting - didn't know that bit. Space Fall isn't hosted there, but I do the "send it to Spotify" thing on our host, so good to know.
I've started the latest @toohot4tv.bsky.social on the subject of Coronation Street, and when I tell you that I was surprised to learn in the opening minute that the show is set in Manchester and not London, you'll understand how little knowledge I'm going into this one with!
Came across this! The con book for Survival '94, the Melbourne con most famous for being the event where everyone rocked up to be told Sophie Aldred wasn't actually coming...
I think I'll watch some more Hartnell tonight...
Nice!
I re-read Boogeymen after we recorded the episode, and had a fun time!
I had fun listening to this. Trek is in my top 5 TV shows. I dabbled in Trek fiction during the NA/MA era. Imzadi was 1 I read & loved at the time. Not read it for 30 years-not surprised about the 'of it's time' parts. I only knew Blood & Fire became an original novel-had idea it was a fanfilm too!
That's a really cool idea, actually!
Happiness Patrol is at least a lot of fun!
I think it's a weaker of the historicals, but, that's against some amazing competition!
