I work at Kotaku now! :)
You can go watch back today's KFGD to hear me talk about it a little if you want. You could also read my alma mater @gibiz.bsky.social to learn more! www.gamesindustry.biz/kotaku-hires...

love seeing good news on my timeline! congrats! i voted for you!
cancer totally seems like the proper wish upon anyone who writes a review that they dont agree with because the stakes are so similar
can you match Pewpiu with their shadow?
Pewpiu is among the many kaiju in gido gido, a chaotic 4v4 co-op city-crushing, base-capturing party battler on steam where your squad can fuse into one collectively controlled massive monster for rival smashing fun!
#indiedevs #multiplayer
that's a heavy load!
appreciate you taking time to respond!!
good insights!! got a top tip for us pr folks?
best piece of wisdom for indie game pr people reaching out?
@tjcwilde.bsky.social curious what your inbox looks like in terms of daily game pitches since youve been there awhile and your pub is among the most popular
has it changed much year over year?
because trending new music is between 2:30-2:45 min long, when i listen to songs that are over 4 min, it becomes very clear which songs could've been shorter (and yes, that is because my brain has been rotted by short-form media)
@blueskynoise.com since u are on the front lines with a lot of game review pitches, how many would u guestimate you get a day? im scared to find out
yo @marioprime.bsky.social how is your inbox looking nowadays?
what is the one piece of advice u have for an indie dev when pitching u on a new game?
agency life can be brutal in terms of workload but it's nice when you get to hype a game that deserves it
hey @johnnychugs.bsky.social what is your inbox like?
you've contributed enough to this convo today! now go be with your children. and by kids i mean inbox pitches
would a 4v4 kaiju party battler fall into a niche/genre that does/doesnt traffic well? think cartoony diet moba for casual gamers where fun is more important than winning
You bring up another important challenge. even if a game pitch catches a reporter's attention, there is no guarantee they will have time to play it. I miss the days when there was only a handful of games each week (or less pre-steam)
so if a game sounds cool but doesnt have pre-existing hype or wishlists, then it would be a no go? or something else?
Would u prefer pitches that are just 1-2 sentences with more info available upon request?
Ugh. sounds so daunting/taxing (and also scary for us folks who have to cut through that clutter). illustrates how important the 1st line of our pitch is
do you then just scan subject lines to see what pops?
21,000+ games were released on steam last year. that's just steam
if you're a reporter, how many games are you pitched on any given day?
im curious if this industry growth is reflected in your in-box or if a lot of devs dont market their games to press
Loved the last one so this is exciting news!
this should be another great @shacknews.com show!
semantics...at one point in your life you have read a wired article for free, maybe even in print. they just have a long memory
I think every man has an amount of peanut butter he’d like to eat, and that amount is “far more than he should”
what do you mean? i want it even more now!
