When you see a Canuck
Play Othello the cuck,
That’s a Moor, eh?

Can we make 21 a 4-way tie and add Karl Swenson?
So sorry about the loss of your friend.
Taking any solace I can on this Easter Sunday. I'm experimenting with a text-based (and unfortunately AI-assisted) video editing software and judging by all the names I have to fix – Mcduff? Dog Barry? Thae of Kor? – AI hasn't discovered Shakespeare yet.
Fascinating. I wish I’d gotten that from the film itself.
Damn. They chose the timely Best Picture, not the timeless one.
We’re grateful to you and will wait as long as it takes.
God help me, I've created a Substack. Join me, won't you?

Hmm…🤔
Thank you!
Thanks for the repost, @kcdirector.bsky.social. Submitted!
Scary how accurate this is.
That Folger run was also the beginning of my relationship with
that lovely institution. Love that history!
So great to see you guys in the front row. And with the vintage red sweatshirt, too! Hope you got home safe!
In my song "Gay!" from THE COMPLETE MILLENNIUM MUSICAL (abridged), our celebration in song of famous homosexuals throughout history, I sang the immortal couplet "Eleanor Roosevelt felt fine / to Ms. Gertrude Stein".
1980's, Upper West Side. I catch eyes with a man walking towards me & look away, but then I realize who those eyes belong to and look back. Robert Duvall's still looking at me but now he's smiling 'cuz he clocked my recognition. He gives me a little nod – yep, it's me – and we both keep walking.
I loved WONDER MAN for reasons I explore in my 100th essay for the @folger.edu. Mainly because it's about the one superpower I can relate to: Acting.

Scenes from George Washington on Bewitched and a simulacrum of Abraham Lincoln on Star Trek.
On Presidents Day we honor George Washington, who in 1972 helped the McMann & Tate ad agency land the Whirlaway account, and Abraham Lincoln, who on Stardate 5906.4 will give his own life to save Captain Kirk from Genghis Khan, Col. Green, Zora and Kahless the Unforgettable.
I love well-written criticism, especially when it's a rave!! My adaptation of @theauthorguy.bsky.social's FOOL is a "sharp, quick-witted script...both smartly constructed and unabashedly fun."
I'll be at the final 2 shows this Saturday if anyone wants to join me!

Love all these! Let me also recommend “Free for All: Joe Papp, The Public, and the Greatest Theater Story Ever Told”.
Greeley Garage Sale Theatre is presenting the 2nd production of FOOL: THE HILARIOUS TRUE STORY OF KING LEAR, my adaptation of @theauthorguy.bsky.social's best-selling novel (and featuring @timidwerewolf.bsky.social as a fetching Sister Basil). Check it out if you can! Call (970) 573-6332 tor tix.
On 2/2, celebrate the RSC Podcast's 1000th episode with a LIVE RECORDING at Chicago's Annoyance Theatre, where @austintichenor.bsky.social will interview Mick Napier & Jennifer Estlin, Annoyance's founder & exec director. JOIN US! @americantheatre.org Tix: theannoyance.thundertix.com/events/259355
Shakespeare's poetry, plots, and characters have inspired dozens of musicals, as well as comic songs and even special cameos. @austintichenor.bsky.social explores the musical theater that keeps us brushing up our Shakespeare: www.folger.edu/blogs/shakes...
It's why the original "This is Spinal Tap" works so well. The musicianship is exceptional.
"[Young Frankenstein] taught several generations a key lesson in crafting genre send-ups: Get it as close to the source material as possible, and the friction between the familiar and the ridiculous nearly sells itself."
and
"We could use more of Brooks’ style of high and low (humor) right now."
Ugh. I’m so sorry.
Servers, cooks, clerks - ICE is coming to your town. Leave no drink unspit in, no food item undefiled. They're putting your coworkers in camps and murdering people in the streets.
Thank you for your service.
