2/ I don’t think PBS stopped caring about DEI work; I think this is literally about their survival. And it may not matter in the end anyway. But I have a lot of empathy for the folks at PBS who had to make what I’m sure was an excruciating decision. Nonprofits are in dire straits.

1/ Yes, this is absolutely upsetting. AND I suspect the decision was made specifically because of the changes to NEA guidelines that came out last week requiring that grantees comply with all Executive Orders. I’m pretty sure PBS receives a significant amount of federal funding.

Stories hold us together. Stories teach us what is important about life, why we are here and how it is best to behave, and that inside us we have access to treasure, in memories and observations, in imagination.

Today I paid $8 for a dozen eggs. Not, like, fancy organic omega-3 unicorn ova. Just plain, bottom shelf store brand eggs. The ones I usually buy weren’t even in stock.

So…can we all agree it was never about the price of #eggs?

The most obvious one that comes to mind that’s known and easy to produce is Our Town. The Laramie Project sure feels timely. Anything by Yasmina Reza is good, maybe Art or God of Carnage. Or anything by Tom Stoppard! That’s a bunch of totally different styles I just listed, haha.

Plays only? Or are musicals on the table too?

Wide shot of Beth wearing blue glasses, layered gold necklaces, an open pink and blue flannel tied at the waist over a white t-shirt, and black pants. She is holding her cell phone to take a mirror selfie with a mildly messy bedroom behind her.

Saturday fit check for hanging out at home reading a script for a new play development workshop I’m directing in two weeks. It’s an adventure romance musical set in the French Revolution. Yes, it’s as amazing as it sounds! #theatre #directorlife #ootd #pinchme

I appreciate the consistent message coming from CPS about their refusal to cooperate with ICE, but the fact that it's necessary is horrifying and heartbreaking. Make no mistake: NONE OF THIS IS NORMAL.

What did he call it? …this brave o’erhanging firmament, this majestical roof fretted with golden fire? Yeah, OK. Let’s give this a shot, Bluesky. #shakespeare
