I feel they need to start listening to their customers. There's an arrogance, especially from their upper management, that they think they know what's working, that they have their fingers on the pulse of what we want. They don't & sales are starting to reflect that. Hopefully, lessons are learned.

I was fully ready to quit monthly books & shift to trade waiting until the Absolute line & All In initiative. That plus Skybound putting out new editions of the Invincible trades plus Battle Beast & Capes ongoings, pulled me back into Indies. It meant the only thing I did quit, was Marvel.
DC kicking Marvel's ass again in sales. Hopefully this is a wake up call for the House of Recycled Ideas.
Same. Seen a lot of people complaining about Lee Pace, saying that Thragg should've had a deeper more menacing voice. But I think it's spot on. He's just got this weird, unsettling calm tone, that's at odds with this absolute unit of a man.
Ddubs variant cover for Absolute Batman #20 goes hard.
I don't think even Scott Snyder would be able to get a version of Robin from the mainline to work in this universe. I'm really interested in this direction and even more so with Slade being their Alfred.
I know the animation gets a lot of shit on Invincible, but when the really big moments arrive, they nail it. They got it perfect with both Conquest fights and now with the real introduction of Thragg and what he can do, they've done it again. Thragg is truly terrifying and I love it.
The Absolute Robins are basically G-Force aren't they? Not a knock by the way, because I loved that show and love the idea being applied to the Robins.
It's mad that we're 19 issues deep with Absolute Batman(plus the annual) and there hasn't been one misstep or lull in the run. #19 is another absolute(no pun intended) banger. Snyder, Dragotta and Martin are killing it.
Said it many times, I like the writer of this book, but this is some Dixon era/Frank Miller grim dark shit. There's even a scene ripped directly from Born Again(the book, not the show).
Come on Dan mate, you're better than this.
He's deffo got a fire stick.
That Fisk charity boxing match was on PPV and The Watcher wasn't paying for that shit.
Been playing the Invincible Vs Open Beta. Never been that high on fighting games, but this one is great fan.
I like Rex Splode's finishing move the best. ๐
Given that Brevoort & Co seem hellbent on bring the 90's back, in storytelling and with the gimmicks, it doesn't surprise me. Only difference being they didn't learn any lessons from the 90's.
This is all Marvel is now. Gimmicks, constant soft relaunches and an endless string of events.
I'm sad that this is what they think will bring new readers to their table, but I'm also glad that I've quit their books. Because this ain't it. Nuff said.
I switched to trade for Mackay's Moon Knight. Love the book, but the constant soft relaunches just annoyed me. It's a minor quibble, but it's just one other thing that Marvel needs to knock on the head. A jumping on point is also a jumping off point too.
None for me. I'm done with Marvel for the time being until they come up with something that isn't a rehash of their greatest hits or that needs a gimmick to push the book. Looking at you Daredevil.
I'm at the stage with Powell that I'm not fussed who takes him out, Kingpin, Bullseye or Punisher, just as long as one of them does and it's as messy as possible. Because fuck this guy.
Yeah, it's frustratingly dumb that they can't for whatever reason. It'd be the easiest win for both Disney & Sony teaming those two up, even for 5 minutes.
First five minutes of Daredevil Born Again episode 4 is just some of the most spectacular violence we've seen so far.
Over in the bad place, Dan Mora of all people, is having to come out and defend his art because some dumb fucks think he's using AI.
So much to look forward to today.
New episode of Invincible.
New episodes of The Boys.
New episode of DD Born Again.
And most important of all, it's New Comic Book Day.
There's loads of actors that have embodied certain characters. RDJ/Tony Stark, Chris Evans/Steve Rogers, & I think Charlie is right up there with them. A lot of it is because he's a bloody good actor, but also an element is down to embracing the source material & actually reading it.
I do find it amusing that DC have the biggest Batman at nearly 7ft and every one of his Absolute rogues gallery(so far) are bigger than him.
They might bring back Finn Jones, but it's not all bad for bringing The Defenders characters back @kvil.bsky.social
Optimism restored? ๐
Willing to bet that most of them didn't read or didn't even know that Tech Jacket had his own book for a while either.
The amount of people getting upset because Tech Jacket is a girl now as if Tech Jacket was their favourite character beforehand. GTFOH.
It was great and a nice change of pace from what we've got from previous Bat writers. Gotta say Jimenez too is just phenomenal. His art just keeps getting better and better.
