Looking at the national dataset
Trusts of comparable size, phase and context can spend 3-4x more per pupil on supply than their peers. You read that right.
There appears to be a consistent relationship between higher supply spend and lower pupil attainment.

A two-year evaluation of 2,600 participating schools, using a pastoral approach aimed at early identification of needs, found a 27% lower exclusion rate than the national average during the 2023-24 year. This equates to around four fewer exclusions per 1,000 pupils
