Could you imagine if the media outlets had resources needed to fully investigate all the corruption going on (not just at Queen's Park)? Part of our mess is that we've been far too soft on politicians and agencies such as Metrolinx and IO.

👏 Canada 👏 Post 👏 is 👏 a 👏 public 👏 service 👏

Nothing proves how capitalism has brain rotted everyone than thinking the post office, hospitals, public transit, libraries, etc. need to turn a profit to be worthwhile.

Study links long COVID in kids to worse grades, attention, and social life

Wondering if it will wind up the parent chat group enough to get me booted out if I put the article about long COVID and school grades in there... 👀

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

Honestly! I’ve got jeans ranging from sizes 27 to 32 right now that fit exactly the same! What do measurements even mean?! 😭

a man in a grey sweater says " okay " ALT: a man in a grey sweater says " okay "

Banning algorithmic pricing ought to be a no-brainer call for any government: people don’t like to be ripped off, surveilled, or treated differently from their peers.

Algorithm pricing does all three of those things.

If you think Doug Ford using taxpayer funds to buy his private jet is unrelated to his trying to have jets fly from Toronto's Island Airport, I've got a failed private waterfront spa at Ontario Place, a shuttered Science Centre, and a tunnel under the 401 to sell you.

How interesting, we have the reverse phenomenon. My kids are totally normal until I come home. They then turn into maniacs. Loud ones. I take it as a compliment

After *choosing* to cut $5 Billion from the long-promised-not-delivered Permanent Public Transit Fund, he now *chooses* to subsidize gasoline companies by more than $2 Billion.

He makes choices, Canada’s urban communities have not asked for this, but will bear the load of those choices.

The next leap forward: Clean air for Canadians “Weak productivity is making life less affordable for Canadians and beginning to strain our government’s finances and starting to put at risk the social programs on which Canadians rely,” Prime Minist...

Any push to increase school attendance has to deal with the fact that schools are where sickness spreads - and it doesn't stay there. Forcing sick kids to go anyway will make that even worse.

If they're serious, start by cleaning the air. Attendance and learning will improve as kids get healthier.

Mikisew Cree First Nation Billy-Joe Tuccaro spoke about the impact that toxic chemicals leaching and spilling from the oil sands is having on his people.

Every Canadian should listen to what he has to say.

Very true, but sadly, the military assistance we’re most likely to need is protection from Trump himself, so no loss there 😕.

Agreed re the Cons, but I’m afraid her presence in the caucus is very much a threat to the ongoing good will many of us have towards a government that is less progressive than we would have preferred in less dangerous times. True, she likely will have 0 impact on policy, but the symbolism is v. bad

I sure do hope there is some strategy to it, but it still seems like the sacrifice of some pretty important principles for expediency. I appreciate Carney’s pragmatism, but what are we defending if we throw our arms around the representatives of the worst kind of ignorance and prejudice? 😞

Any government that isn't right now accelerating plans to transition to 100% clean, renewable energy is either:

a. Incompetent
b. In the pockets of people who'd rather they didn't
c. a & b

I have no trouble with floor crossings in general. But as someone who joined the Liberal Party for the express purpose of selecting Mark Carney to hopefully save Canada from the the right wing extremism of the PCs, I am very disappointed he accepted Gladu. She’s exactly what I hoped to defeat
