So many meme'able thoughts about today's extension of the Title II compliance deadline. It's some mixture of "laughing rich guys," "Ben Affleck smoking," and "bad luck Brian."

But then how will everyone in a 50 yard radius know that you're cool like a 1930s jazz musician?
Disney made the movie Frozen so when you googled "Walt Disney frozen", it would show results for the movie instead of the urban legend that Walt Disney cryogenically froze his head
No wonder people starting caring more about the taste of their beer.
One of the best changes I've seen in colleges between when I attended (the turn of the millennium) and now is many MANY fewer people (students, faculty, staff) smoke cigarettes.
It makes everyday life so much better on campus.
Now I want to play The Witness again.

Me in the late 90s: "So many people smoking cigarettes. I hope it doesn't smell like an ashtray everywhere I go when I get older."

Don't be shy to take on a little two-week side project. These five months will be the most precious three years of your academic journey.
My stomach now hurts, completely randomly.
Every AI commercial is like "Hey AI, what goes good on a sandwich?" and then the AI is like "Have you considered... cheese?" And then the narrator is like: THE FUTURE IS HERE.
Geordi La Forge meme. The "Hold On A Minute" Geordi image is next to text reading: "A personalized license plate that references something from harry potter" The "This is the right way to do it" Geordi image is next to text reading: "A personalized license plate that references something from discworld"
You have to look on Polly-O-Market
My dad, a federal worker (not in Oklahoma City) knew several of the people killed in the attacked.
The US has never really truly reckoned with the true roots of this attack, which stemmed from white supremacist groups, many of which have greater political influence now than they did in 1995.
Today is April 19. The anniversary of the bombing of the Oklahoma City Federal Building in 1995.
The bombing killed 167 (or 168) people and was the deadliest terrorist attack in the US until 9/11 and remains the second deadliest and the deadliest act of domestic terrorism.
They were smallish blocks of cheese. It is "cleaning out the refrigerator" time here in the the Chemist household.
I think I finished first although she enjoyed hers more.
However, there are no actual winners of this competition.
She has mozzarella. I have monterey jack.
Mrs. the Chemist and I are at the "having a block of cheese eating contest" phase of our marriage.
jesus fuck, man
Humans are done for now that finally, after the entire 6000 years of human existence, a machine has finally gone faster than people can.
Pro tip to make grading lab reports easier: make sure every student with messy handwriting is matched with a partner whose writing is neat. That way at least one copy of each team's data table will be legible.
BTW in case you were wondering, based on our spectrophotometry lab, the concentration of Brilliant Blue (aka blue dye #1) in blue Powerade is about 4 µM, or 3.1 milligrams of blue dye per 32 oz. bottle. If you get "Fierce" blue, the concentration of dye is about double.
Hard hitting science.
Okay it was worth it. A very good game.
Please can we all stop agreeing with the head of an extremely conservative religious organisation simply because he seems to be one of the ones who is taking time off from shuffling child rapists about and damning women to reproductive servitude just long enough to say something borderline sane.
Crossed over a bridge where one lane was closed due to police activity.
The police activity? An officer was standing on the side of the road keeping a pelican from walking into traffic.
The problem for me is that electron affinity is a reaction: A + e⁻ → A⁻
You can focus on the reactants (regular periodic table) or products (this one) but each leaves out half of the reaction.
Lol. That Wikipedia page reads like ad copy. Wouldn't be surprised if it was created by Wikipedia user "BeauJosCEO7".
Welcome to your Old Woman Era™.
And then adding a g block is just going to muddle everything and make the table that much more confusing for most people using the table.
My proposal: don't add any new elements found.
The periodic table is a tool to help scientists understand the properties of elements at a glance. The new elements' properties will not be relevant to 99.999+% of people using the table.
