Yeah, I was kinda rushing through, since I didn't have much time to play, but that is absolutely a world I could've lived in

Just finished Okami HD and Onimusha: Warlords. I'd like to go back in time and tell my past self to be more excited about those sequel announcements.

Honestly, I find it a miracle I've finished even half this list
It's been real good for JRPG fans but pretty bad for like...everything outside of Japan. It's not as bad as 2021, though. I think the only unanimously critical success was a Forza game that year (that didn't even get nominated).
It's the lowest reviewed Game Awards nomination since the ceremony began. From what I've seen, it's fine, but it's mostly just driven by its popularity abroad. (And it's kind of a weak year in terms of the number of high-scoring games.)
Everyone acts like Keighley schemes to put together the list of nominees on his own in secret. People in the industry voted for those nominations. Your peers asked for them. I voted to put Erdtree there because it’s incredible. I don’t care that it’s DLC. Relax, the world won’t implode.
I honestly feel like it's just people getting attached to an arbitrary feeling of fairness. Just because Elden Ring already won. I think if Phantom Liberty had made it onto the list last year, people wouldn't be as annoyed.
It takes a long time to be correct and a very short time to be wrong!

Like, there are so many ways in writing to convey a shocking character death, but a line like that where the death is described passively is so strong. I'd already watched the TV show, so I knew it was coming, but it's the sort of writing that makes you do a double-take.
There's a line in Leviathan Wakes (Expanse) that I haven't been able to stop thinking about since I first read it.
"The gauss round that killed *** didn’t even make a noise. Like a magic trick, two perfectly round holes appeared on either side of the room in a line that intersected ***’s couch."

Throughout Oshi no Ko, we've been challenged to think about the worth of stories and performance, even knowing that they are forms of lies.
In leaving us in doubt about some things, I found it actually resonates stronger.
