I order a small army of robots around to get arms and armor to those in need
12 months of various MK Props shop orders
Looking over some of my orders from the year.. feels like a good mix of anime and games. And a whole lot of fun ๐
Scale pattern grip for a custom lightsaber
Test print.. still debating if I should modify the scale pattern, or leave it regular. Maybe I'll do both in the end, since I'm designing this #lightsaber to allow me to swap parts
As a fellow migraine sufferer at times.. I'd always say you've got to take care of you. It doesn't do any good for anyone to try to fight your body, just get yourself well. Streaming can wait.
Back when I worked at Lucas, my first business card had a neat embossed logo on it. I've always thought those cards were cool, so I figured I'd make some 3D printed plates to emboss my own cards now. Did a test, and it definitely works.
.. now I just have to figure out a design to suit such cards ๐คฃ
Thanks for the reminder - I've been meaning to try making pierogis for a while now, and keep putting it off for one reason or another. I think I know what I'm doing for dinner...
It's honestly pretty soothing working through all the various steps. Just takes a while ๐
While I do try for general, ongoing printer maintenance, I also try for end of year overhauls. Put on a several hour playlist and check that all the bolts and belts are tight, make sure the bowden tubes are all clean and trimmed, deep clean and lightly sand the printing plates, check extruders..
That sounds both fun and intimidating, so it's really cool that you're going for it if you ask me!
I miss my little Sweetie. She'd hop up on my back and chat to me about her day when I was giving out food, walking around my shoulders until she got her say in, then hop down. If I was on the other side of the housing, she'd ask for treats rather than a ride - and she loved rice as well
Me: *existing in my mid-40s*
My back: ...
My back: ...
My back: I hate you so much
Me: Same to you, buddy, same to you...
It's kind of interesting to see how the plastic filament going into my printers can, over time, act like a saw and cut through the printer's extruder. Reminds me of the old stories of someone using dental floss to cut through jail bars...
Our squirrels are always doing that.. but there's a stump they all want to eat their stolen treat on if they can get there. It's home base, I guess, since once one gets there the rest leave them alone .. until the next treat is found ๐
Fingers crossed I can get this silly project done by New Year's. I just mess with it while waiting for paint to dry and such
Custom lightsaber render in Fusion 360
Okay, force killed Fusion a little while back, but this is why I mostly keep local backups anyway, I don't trust my internet. And since I'm building this similar to a Perfect Grade Gundam, of course it doesn't look like it needs anywhere near 300 MB...
Come on, Fusion, I know this is one of my larger models, but it shouldn't take an hour to exit for saving a 300 MB file...
My father just called me up and offered to lend me his Prime Video login to watch it, haha
Zelos sword and scabbard from Tales of Symphonia
Hey, neat, a request for a Zelos sword. I assume from Tales of Symphonia, in which case I made one like a decade ago for a good friend.. but that was from my CNC in foam and I think I can do better now, even though that was a really fun build. And a fun game since they wandered and I fought ๐
I.. think I broke this bluesky wrapped thingy..
Put the leftovers away, started the dishwasher (for almost all the dishes), now time.. for sleep. I don't mind all the cooking, but I am not cut out for the whole socializing thing...
And I have to love my family, they know exactly the kind of weird and random stuff I'd love to get...
(it's basically buffalo wing sauce, so the chicken motif fits in multiple ways, making it even more fun)
Little bit of a late start getting the turkey in the oven and the rutabaga side started in the pressure pot, but I think I'm more or less on schedule for friends & family dinner today. Gift exchange had to happen before the cookery could begin.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!
Go for it! Everyone has plenty of lore!
Stuff that sounds boring to you is still a different experience from others, and can be fascinating for them after all.
(I don't do them because I don't think I'd get any likes, haha)
I had so much fun picking up the Wii! When they were first out and no one could get any, I knew of a secret little Toys R Us a bit north of San Francisco. Basically no line at all, and there was a bookstore next door. Ahh, good trip. And fun games!
Still not sure why Fusion wants me to save my projects to my account just to do local renders.. so I'll just start saving everything I've been working on this year as the same temp and doing a render ๐ #KindomHearts keyblades are fun, and I tried out a new chain design for printing with this one
Time for Christmas molasses crisp cookies.. again. This is my third 24 dozen batch this year since *somehow* they keep disappearing, and I still laugh every time I see this picture that normally hangs on the fridge of me back in when I was 20 doing the same thing... ah, I was so young and pale...
I'd feel horrible playing Mega Man Legends again.. I saw that kicking the dog enemies turned me dark, and I thought I was as evil as possible at a certain point, but a friend who runs a Mega Man site told me I was not close to as evil as possible.
But I'd still like to see that series brought back!
WIP, testing out some prints and paints for my silly lightsaber build. Color isn't quite what I want yet, but I'm pretty happy with the quality level my Ender 3 can give for such tiny parts given I didn't sand them at all, or even remove them from the raft yet
Sounds like the time I took a parkour class.. so much fun, but oohhhhhhh boy every part of me was both limp noodles and pain
