Thought I’d post this after seeing all those pseudo-religious people blessing Dear Leader and his recent post.

I was born in this hospital; many many years ago.
I like this pope more and more
It says a lot about Republicans that they’ll make draft registration automatic and mandatory, but not voter registration.
Maybe Mr. Steves will update the main post at some point.
Yes, this is just the 30 sec promo. Here’s the link to the 55min video:

The Bright Ages book by Matthew Gabriele & David Perry on a bookshelf.

Looking forward to reading this one; received it today. I know I’m late to the game. I’ve had the electronic version for quite a while but couldn’t get more than a few pages in. Guess I’m just too “old school” (or just old!). I need the book in my hands!
Oh my… really sorry to hear this. Our animals become a part of us and when they go it seems as if a part of us go with them. Never a good thing, but as hard as it is, it’s a part of life. Keep the memories strong.
And one of my jobs in college was emptying all the “bit buckets” for the the University’s punched card machines. So… I’ll be getting close to my last colonoscopy soon.
Me too!
Applies even more today than it did 11 months ago.
An important listen regarding the Mississippi voting rights case that goes before the Supreme Court this week.

Let’s see now… recent Mississippi scandals tucked away in my memory banks… Meat-packing plant, lignite coal, TANF,… Probably something else not listed. Wonder what’s next.
Let me know if you have trouble with the link. I don’t think there’s a paywall for it, but I have a subscription so it may not be readily apparent to me. If you have difficulty I should be able to send it to you as a ‘gift’.
Yes, it was from Marc Elias with a newsletter he published in Nov 2025 (link below). From the newsletter it’s not proof the RNC asked Miss, but rather his opinion that certainly seems reasonable. Here’s the link: www.democracydocket.com/opinion/i-pr...
I read that a few month’s ago. Cannot remember precisely now; possibly Marc Elias at DemocracyDocket.com. I’ll check later tonight when I have more time. The “not defend vigorously” was my own.
I doubt if Miss will defend it very vigorously. My understanding is that Miss was going to drop it til the RNC told them not to so that they could get the Supreme Court to rule on it potentially invalidating post-election day ballots nationwide.
Thanks, Michael. I've never been that attached to an "animal" before. It was like we understood each other; within our individual limitations. I can imagine how you feel about Fumi. Enjoy your time together.
Thanks, Marcella.
And I imagine he will still win re-election this year. Makes me lose my faith.
She magically appeared at my barn over 2 1/2 years ago as maybe a 6-week old kitten. Before that I had never considered myself a cat person; but she won me over and we had been almost inseparable. She kept me sane and grounded in what was important in life. I will miss her.
She had apparently lost a battle with an animal; possibly a coyote. I cannot help but think that somehow I let her down by not keeping her safe. But at the same time I know I had to let her be a cat.

I lost my best buddy this week - Cleo the cat. She woke me up almost every morning to be let outside at 2-3am, always coming back at 5-6am. One morning this week she did not come back. It took me a day to find her and it was not pretty...🧵

I was always taught that you remove your hat when entering a building (especially men; not necessarily women in "fancy" hats). Is this no longer a thing?
Great article! In 2024 I was convinced and hopeful that the "women would save us"; but I was proved wrong. It made me think back to the many domestic abuse stories I've always heard about women returning to their abusers; and that has always made me very sad.
I remember in 2016 telling my wife "he sounds like Germany in the 1930s; if he gets elected it will be hell to pay". And she said "Congress will protect us", and I said (sarcastically) "yeah..., right!".
Kinda sounds to me likes he's about to declare victory! Guess it will be another war he has stopped.
I'm proud to say that I was one of those 2016-people. I remain mystified that more people (especially Miss. GOPers!!) that still don't get it.
I’m waiting for: “it’s Biden’s fault”. And all GOPers will say “Yep”.
