It's a toss-up between "Last Night in Soho" and "Men" for me

noooo π I'm sorry! I'm on doxepin and I was really hopeful about it, but it doesn't seem to be working out very well. I was on mirtazapine for depression a decade ago and it Fucked Me Up so I'm too scared to try it for insomnia even with the low dosage sdghsdghj
Moomintroll lying on his back in a fast-flowing river.
When the doctor prescribes you something she says will "definitely help" your insomnia and it does not do that
squishy tummies...........
On top of reasons of role deconstruction and bodily autonomy, this is one reason why it's so important to many people in power to eradicate trans folk.
If you're secure with yourself, feeling good BEING yourself, they can't tell you you're broken and then sell you a "fix"
In particular we'd love to see more mentors from:
Art (any type)

I've only tried recurve/Olympic archery (at a short distance), but I wouldn't mind trying some field archery sometime! What kind do you do?
Itβs inaccurate to say Mario is brave and Luigi is cowardly
Luigi is afraid of death, so he runs away from danger. Mario is afraid of living, so he runs towards death. Both brothers are cowards in their own way
I HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME I found it unexpectedly similar to bouldering?? Slow-paced, analytical, periodic breaks (waiting for everyone before collecting your arrows, resting/waiting for the route you wanna climb to be free).
Like, it's..........almost as if that's a big theme of the novel.......... π₯²
I once read a review of Mortal Engines where the reviewer hated the book because "Traction Cities don't make any sense," as if the world isn't full of people who ardently advocate for ridiculous systems just because they've always (in their memory) worked that way.
A key component of worldbuilding that amateur media critics don't understand is that just because something is patently ridiculous or full of obvious problems does NOT mean it's impossible, or even unlikely to happen.
Our world had Juicero; there is no reason a fictional one would be any different.
Went to an archery trial class this morning and I might have unlocked a new obsession.
Yeah, I can get that. In a game with so many stellar performances and character/actor matchups, he does kind of fall short compared to the others.
Think of how many games where the verb is violence. How many games (including the ones nominated for tonightβs BAFTA awards) where you shoot, fight, kill.
But when games want to explore the topic of violence in a meaningful way, thatβs the issue?
Bull's "BDSM for dummies" crash course doesn't count because it's very much painted as him being the freak and the Inquisitor being the innocent flower who's never done anything kinky before (with no dialogue options to imply otherwise, iirc, which is a very weird choice).
I haven't played Veilguard but I feel like Inquisition suffered from not allowing the *player* to be a pervert. DAO gives you loads of opportunities to be a huge freak, DA2 much less but it's still there a bit, DAI? Nothing really comes to mind. Let the player be a horny weirdo!
aw, amazing! They might have known him as "Papa Joe" haha. I don't actually know where Josephine Butler college is but I've heard of it (good things) (my mum also worked in the English department so I was very entrenched in Durham uni stuff growing up)
A six pack of Coca-Cola with zero caffeine, zero sugar, and zero calories.
We have that here! Sucks that the US doesn't have it yet? Maybe there's some way to order it online π€
That's cool!! My dad was the principal of St Chad's back then! βΊοΈ
Oh nice! Which college did you go to?
diplodocus my beloved
Durham! π«΅ My hometown! π«΅ I'm from there! π«΅
I've been a @limitbreak.co.uk mentee three times now, so this year I've decided to be a little nuts and become a mentor. I'm not very far along in my career myself, but I'm here for any junior writers, narrative-focused indies, or job hunters who'd like some support π‘οΈβ¨
I have these copies tooo, they were my aunt's
Kind of the grim but natural conclusion for a category of people who already subscribe to the idea that it's possible for a woman to be asking for it just by existing in public. Responsibility for our own actions and emotions???? Ludicrous
