Really pleased to be able to announce that our paper on the Dipole-Multipole transition in Dynamos has been published at GJI: doi.org/10.1093/gji/.... Massive thanks to Chris Davies, Stephen Mason, and Souvik Naskar for all the work and support that went into this one!

Great to see this work led by Andrew Biggin in print! Really enjoyed supporting this work with simulation code, HPC troubleshooting, geodynamo simulations, post processing and data management.

Had a great time this week sharing our work on geodynamo simulations, catching up with former colleagues, learning about research being carried out in the community, and enjoying the sites of Durham at the 23rd International Couette Taylor Workshop 2025
My poster for ARCHER2 Celebration of Science is now available on Zenodo!
Clarke, A., Davies, C., Naskar, S., & Mason, S. (2025). Accessing the dipole-multipole transition in rapidly rotating spherical shell dynamos (1.0). Zenodo. doi.org/10.5281/zeno...
Really great first day of ARCHER2 Celebration of Science in Edinburgh, presenting my work on High Performance Computing simulations of Geodynamo Dipole-Multipole transitions in a poster and lightning talk.
Lovely trip up to Edinburgh yesterday topped off by a nice walk up to Arthur's seat. All ready for the Archer2 celebration of science today.
This week a group of us completed the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge in support of Leeds Hospitals Charity. Any support for this great cause would be much appreciated. www.justgiving.com/page/anthony...
Looking forward to seeing all of the interesting things people have been doing on ARCHER2, and also sharing our work on geodynamo simulations after our abstract was accepted for Celebration of Science 2025.
Checking out some aircraft at Yorkshire Air Museum.
The Sun! Great to see the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford is open again, I particularly enjoyed the Science on a sphere exhibit.
Really enjoyed this session, thank you to #EVERSE for hosting this event.
Excited for the EVERSE Network of Research Software Quality launch event I am attending online this morning.
Really enjoyed today's University of Leeds IGT weekly seminar by Claire Nichols on the history of Earth's magnetic field. Was great to hear about the techniques being used to improve the accuracy of age measurements of paleointensity samples.
Was great to hear about the atmospheric effects of comet impacts at the first University of Leeds Fluids and MHD seminar of 2025 presented by Felix Sainsbury-Martinez.
That feeling when you remember that just because fortran is case insensitive, doesn't mean your C preprocessor directives are!!
D'oh.
