Hand painted stone portrait with rich florals and soft detail. One of my favourite pieces to date.

I'm a strong completionist myself, but chronic illness means I can rarely sit through even the best movie in a single sitting, and it's way easier to not finish a film when you've already stopped once.
I admire your stamina!
Inexplicable!
Very much enjoyed doing this several times at Nine Worlds (RIP).
Maybe unpopular opinion but SFF conventions should have way fewer panels and way more "somebody talks about something random and interesting for fifteen minutes"
I did not get far into that movie.
A small brown cat next to the plastic bag she destroyed.
A two-wick candle in a jar on a kitchen counter.
New underbed storage was required because Garlic destroyed my plastic vacuum storage bags.
I also made a new scented candle from the unused wax of burned out candles and essential oils. It worked magnificently, and I recommend this to others.
A large brown bag.
A small brown cat sprawled on a human lying on the sofa, who seems amused.
A shadeless lamp on a garden table, surrounded by paints and brushes. The lamp is a dark blue-black, stippled with metallic blue and pink to create a vaguely space-like effect.
A small brown cat sitting peacefully in the sun in a terracotta pot.
I'm so very bad at checking this, for which I am sorry, as it's my main method of keeping in touch with many people I adore.
Here's a few things I have been up to:
- Sewing new underbed storage
- Painting a lamp
- Being sprawled on by Garlic
- Sitting in the sun with Garlic
@ajodasso.bsky.social *waves hello* having seen your Facebook message. I'm not often on here, and if I am it's usually as @rubyjones.bsky.social , but I wanted to make contact.

Dark…very dark…
Go read my angsty android fiction under my spicy romance pen name, why not?
Ink drawing of a cat's head.
Reference photo for the drawing, which features a very sleek and pretty brown cat.
Had a go at drawing my cat, Garlic, based on one of her photos where she looks like a little model. #art #cat #GarlicTheCat
Also, if you borrow an author's book from a library in the UK, that author gets more than 12 pence per loan in Public Lending Rights. Any author can earn up to £6,600 per year this way.
For context: I published my 15th book last year. The advance I received for it was considerably less than £6,600.
Some of y'all are following this rag. You might want to reconsder that, given this *gestures to the poop they just smeared below*
Lies and poppy-cock. cowardly ones, at that.
Always good to know which magazines just aren't worth it, though.
This is, in my opinion, not only the correct moral/ethical/legal position but also the correct political framing. Everyone can see the agency is out of control; everyone can see that it is constantly violating human rights. "Scrap it and start over" is the moderate position.
the perennial "is this a good replacement for twitter / can it become as big as twitter" discussion is so confused. hominids became bipedal about 7 million years ago. for most of the time since we did not have microblogging. it's not a necessity it's a habit, if it all goes away that's fine
Your regular reminder that there is no legal path from martial law to suspending elections in this country.
That doesn't mean there is no path. It just means that we need to reject the framing that the federal government has any legal authority to cease elections.
Ah yes, the doctor's waiting room, my favourite place.
Nothing bad ever happens at the doctor's. Put baby in doctor's mouth.
Oof, yeah, I loved that film too 😭
Generative AI is an engine for churning out contaminated information faster than people can produce safe information, let alone fact check and correct it.
And corrections never remove the original contamination, it's an attempt to stem the metaphorical bleeding and hope for the best. 11/
Let's talk about generative AI, contaminated information, and rhubarb.
Once upon a time, Europe was at war.
Food was scarce, and the government of the quote-unquote United Kingdom looked for alternatives. 1/
Dylan Thomas was an arsehole alcoholic. Fern Hill is about loss of innocence and being unable to return to childhood. That... still seems a fitting emotion, coming from a dick.
