I was looking at a job on LinkedIn that seemed like a good fit. Remote, decent salary, ok equity.

Then at the end: must work on-site in NYC.

I reported it for incorrect location. Don't list something as remote if it really isn't.

And yes, I’m aware that federal law doesn’t currently allow this. That could be changed the next time we have a functional government.

Some do, most don’t. We’re seeing more at grocery stores, though. I’ve seen them at HyVee’s, Target, and Walmart.

And I think a lot of red states ARE heavily invested in wind.

Yup. We stopped to charge twice on a road trip this weekend. Both stops were at Walmarts and both times my wife went inside and bought stuff.

What would make me very happy is high speed chargers at freeway rest stops. That’s somewhere you’re pulling over for 10-20 minutes anyway…

We had a road trip this weekend in a 275-mile range EV, but yeah, I’d love to have 400 miles with fast charging. I don’t mind taking a 20 minute break every 2-3 hours.

I had a movie ticket for 8:30 last night.

I got to the theater after 8:50, found my seat, decided to go get snacks, and got back to my seat in time for the last preview (and the "lights and noise are distracting" warning) before the movie finally started. At 9:02.

This is too much..

Did they stop making open captioned movie trailers, or is it just AMC? I go to the movies a few times a month, almost exclusively open captioned showings, and I don't think I've seen a single trailer in the last three months that had captions other than the rare occasion I use captiview instead.

Yup, we bought an EV a couple months ago because we wanted to get one before the prices go up.

Our other EV is leased; not really sure what we're going to do when that runs out.

I had planned to buy a mirrorless camera this summer. Now I guess I just...won't?

I remember one time when I was in college, I joined a volleyball tournament. Half the people on my team had apparently never played before and couldn't serve the ball over the net. The other team was kind of like this.

I love a good comedy scifi. I'm still a little irritated about the last time I specifically went looking for one, though; opened up that category on Amazon and after two pages of manchest, I gave up. Romance has taken over everything.

At least the no starch books tend to be pretty decent :-)

I made fruit smoothies a couple times this weekend.

The funny thing is that both days I just handed my daughter a glass, and because she's used to her little brother handing her things to try, she just took a drink without asking.

Then each time I got a wide-eyed "that's really good, what is it?"

I've forced myself to start using em dashes recently; I have a tendency to just use - and I'm trying to be more correct.

They're still around! We went to a game a couple years ago.

I always find limiting sugar to be the hardest part by far.

This is one of those books that I always heard about and then I didn't actually get around to reading it for the first time until after Adams died.

It's not at all the "serious" scifi I mostly read at the time, but I still quite enjoyed it; it's just that good.

I mean, if you're looking for a "foundational" book, I suppose you can start with Asimov's "Foundation" :-)

I think Asimov actually wrote a huge percentage of the books I was into as a new scifi reader.

I think I last checked it in 2012.

My voicemail message just says that I don't check voicemail and people should email me.

The other day I was commenting on how it had warmed up to 40 degrees below freezing, and...yeah.

Supposedly screenshots aren't allowed either, unless that's changed since yesterday.

Although it seems to mostly be the same few things over and over anyway. The guy who lost $700k on $TRUMP, the cops mad that Trump pardoned the insurrectionists, the newly hired federal workers who now aren't, etc.
