Yes! I just posted about seeing it here in NYC and not knowing a thing about the movie going in. One of my all time favorite theater experiences!
Another one was The Blair Witch Project, which I saw at the Angelika. I didn't know a thing about the movie going in, and they had room full of found artifacts, like dirt-covered DV tapes and notebooks and stuff like that. To date, I think that still stands as my favorite movie-going experience.
I got a bunch of good ones (The Rock, Con Air, Snakes on a Plane), but sometimes the specific theater is important. For example, I saw Marked for Death (1990) at Kings Plaza in Brooklyn, with a bunch of Jamaicans. It was very, uh, interactive.

I was with a tour group in Shanghai and when we stopped at a temple and a bunch of people in our group had the same reaction when they saw that symbol too! Stuff like that is why I love traveling though. Enjoy your trip!
It is; the word "swastika" is from Sanskrit.
That symbol is thousands of years old and represents divinity and unity in Hinduism and Buddhism; the Nazis co-opted it for their hate later. So yes, you're a lil' too American in this case!
