I'm at the point of writing where I think nothing I do is interesting. What is this pathology?

Maybe it's because i'm writing a paper about ethics but we're re-watching Grey's anatomy from the beginning and Izzie Stephens is so un-ethical is makes my blood boil

I like the science my lab does and I think it's more important to do now than ever, but uhh...also I'm kinda into event planning (e.g., workshops, conferences)? Did not really expect that to be my post-tenure exploration

Researchers. For example, many in social psych use the CFD. But, I'd wager that using those faces in any sort of AI application or AI modification is inappropriate use.

One thing that I'm increasingly concerned about is people using face database faces in ways that are likely way beyond the scope of what the participants consented to.

I hear plenty of discussion around (un)ethical use of AI in writing, but this facet of the AI revolution feels less discussed.

Have been thinking of writing something that argues the underrepresentation of non-white samples in dev psych is because of embedded cultures of whiteness into structures -- particularly the primacy of the nuclear family. But where to send something like that

A generous donor has offered to match $1,000 for any individual or coordinated group donation of $1,000 or more, up to 50 matches total.

Group gifts must be coordinated with the Project Implicit team.

To participate, contact our team: www.projectimplicit.net/contact-us/

My hot take is that if more editors actually edited, instead of repeatedly sending papers back out to reviewers or used reviews as scorekeeping marks, then the culture of peer review might improve and more people might accept.

The genius of Jim Sidanius was (among other things) identifying social dominance orientation as a way that people approach the world.

Project Implicit is facing an existential threat. After almost 30 years, 60 million visitors, and hundreds of published papers, funding for our work has disappeared.

We’ve never held a fundraising drive before, but we need your support to keep our site running. Please consider donating! 🙏
