In this case we would expect a difference for German speaking philosophers, don't we? :)

This is an interesting thought. Just to be sure I understood you correctly: you assume that philosophers - at least in English speaking countries - do not consider themselves scientists, therefore they do not feel included in "consciousness science"?

That's interesting. I did not know that. Did these groups also have ideas on how to change that? :)

Indeed a good question. To be fair, I think it is just what I heard the most. But I also like that it stresses that it is its own discipline that can include very different viewpoints on the same subject (e.g. not only neuroscience, psychology etc. but also philosophy and more). :)

I would refer to it as consciousness science :)

Awesome! :)

Thank you so much for the opportunity to present my work! It was big fun presenting and the others' work was super interesting. :)

I am so excited to meet familiar and new people and to learn everything new in BCI :) That will be fun I'm sure. See you soon! ✌️ #BCI #BCI2025

On my way to #BCI2025 presented by @bcisociety.bsky.social. I will present my work on resting-state brain criticality and subsequent BCI use. If you're interested step by my master class presentation on Monday (16:45-17:45, KC210), my poster on Wednesday, or the workshop W19 on Thursday :)

I would like to be added if this is still possible :)

Thank you! ✌️

Oh may I be added? :) I am taking in a rather practical point of view on consciousness research but the detection of neural "signs" consciousness (in forms of mental states) are the most important part of my work :)

I would like to be added :) even though I am coming from a more "applied" point of view, my research is heavily influenced by basic research in neuroscience, and I like to raise its importance in my field :)

Here is a starter pack with research tools for cognitive (neuro)science! This is still very preliminary, so please repost widely and let me know what else to add, so we can rebuild a helpful community over here!

If possible I would like to be added too:) thanks for taking care of that!

Although this is only an initial investigation, the neural correlates found may prove to be useful predictors of BCI use in healthy subjects in the future - an area of research that has been largely neglected for P300-based BCIs.

Tbh this is a current one. More generally: where and how does "mind" emerge and how to detect that :) and many more 😁🙈

What/does something happen(s) to consciousness in neural disorders and how to detect that?

Upper part of my poster for the Graz BCI conference showing the title.

Hi everyone! When any of you are attending the Graz BCI conference please come around my poster (no.32) on Thursday and talk with me about brain criticality and its potential role in BCI use. I'd be happy to discuss it! #BCI #GrazBCI

A pride flag with every color band represented by a NASA image. White is Earth clouds, pink is aurora, blue is the Sun in a specific wavelength, brown is Jupiter clouds, black is the Hubble deep field, red is the top of sprites, orange is a Mars crater, yellow is the surface of Io, green is a lake with algae, blue is Neptune, and purple is the Crab Nebula in a specific wavelength.

I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️‍🌈💖

BlueSky June!

Many people who have a BlueSky account still prioritize posting, reading, and asking questions on Twitter.

So for the rest of June, I ask you to commit to using BlueSky before the mess called X.

Please retweet and tag people!

I would like to be added to the list. Although I am rather working on BCI than HCI and more of a reader than a contributor, it could still be interesting to me :)
