Our Shannon Development Photographic Archive exhibition will be available to view in Shannon Library as part of Clare Libraries History week. Available to view from now until October 18th, this exhibition showcases the Shannon Development Photographic Collection, donated by the Shannon Airport Group to UL in 2014. Through striking images and informative panels, it captures the transformation of the Shannon region from its rural roots to a hub of industry and tourism—offering a vivid glimpse into Irish life and fashion in the latter half of the 20th century. The exhibition forms part of Clare Libraries History Week programme, which also includes a presentation by UL archivist Dr. Kirsten Mulrennan on Tuesday 7 October at 6.30pm in Shannon Library, highlighting the Wellcome Trust-funded project to digitise the Shannon Development Photographic Archive.
