Finally finished #DragonAge: The Veilguard. I enjoyed it and I am happy to have this addition to the DA universe. It has flaws but it’s not a bad game. I'm most disappointed in the lack of NG+ though.

Not kidding when I say I thought about the linguistics of Cranium for DAYS. I read the Thai version.

I can picture the author as someone who grew up watching US TV shows with Thai subtitles. Very peculiar syntax that sound like they may have come from English sentences. I can also see this if the author has written academic papers in English.

What was most interesting for me was the linguistics of the writing in Cranium. It's a mix of classic Thai with more modern, flexible Thai. It also has a lot unusual sentence structures for the Thai language, not just character specific colloquialism.

That may maintain the intrigue in Phinya's character and the nebulous nature of their relationship. I have to say though that I'm looking forward to seeing this portrayed in a visual media since there are many things unsaid that could be shown.
