Our question is not if we should introduce an upper ceiling for humanitarian aid.
The question is, where we want to invest our money?
Do we want to invest in life or in death?
Europe has options.
The question is what do we decide to do?
The question is where do we put our money?
We can invest in militarizing our borders.
We can invest money into hindering people from crossing the Mediterranean.
Imagine you are in a refugee camp with your family.
What would you do if you could not feed your children?
You would go somewhere else.
You would go where you hope that your children would not starve.
You would go north.
Not because you want to but because you don’t have another option.

The French corporations Adionics and Eramet work in Salta on the technology of direct lithium extraction - an innovative method which would reduce the environmental impact of electric battery production enormously.
Protection of indigenous people and their livelihoods as well as safeguards for the environment, especially water management, are crucial. Beyond extracting minerals, processing and diversified added value chains will be decisive for a prosperous future for all.
Argentina is a federal state. The competence for mining lies with the provinces. In Salta we discussed the prospects of their region with ministers and leading deputies.
Business representatives have high expectations. But #Mercosur must become a living agreement and create local value chains to really boost sustainable growth and decent employment.
