You gotta be a pretty fascinating dude to have this come up in your search results

Now instead of one sandwich I’m making like three at a time and instead of one fifth grade teacher I have like a trillion.
In fifth grade my teacher had us write steps to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and then executed each instruction literally while we all laughed our heads off.
Increasingly important lesson!
It’s frustrating because you guys likely know more about money than you’re letting on. Obvs this is a dumb book but saying about wealth “some on the left think it’s a roll of the dice but I’m not invested in that” gives an even dumber idea way too much credit.
This episode is an example of how performative leftism so completely fails to talk about money in a sane way.
“AI was used to write this book” is too negative, how about something positive like “author read this book before publication”
Must have found out ICE is threatening observers via some liberal snitch!
Yeah. I decided to read it as “I understand I’ll be working alongside people who believe X and I agree to keep my big mouth shut about X”
This happened to me in 2020 when there were a lot of people from out of town converging in my neighborhood near the fifth precinct. Someone started a neighborhood watch but to join the Signal group and take a shift you had to agree the goal was to abolish the police.
I liked your interview with Cal Newport. Do you know the Technology Blows podcast? Latest episode is about Meta: bsky.app/profile/tech...
Bluesky has a lot of the anxious left who feel compelled to immediately steer every discussion toward a familiar story in which they have a moral high ground.
AI presents new problems and we should discuss them rather than turn it into another topic the pure of heart must flee.
Or Purity Social
There’s lots of craziness, I can understand wanting to shake your fist at it all. Being concrete about what doesn’t feel fair could help find concrete solutions, though.
Bluesky should have been called Xodus
If you have a lot of NVDA stock and don’t sell it you don’t pay taxes on it, true. The value of the stock will increase if you convince others to buy it. But that’s risky. AI stocks could crash even if AI ends up continuing to grow, like what happened with Internet stocks in the 2000s.
AI costs more to run than consumers are paying for it, sure. But does it cost more to run than it costs to hire an employee to do comparable work?
I’ve noticed way fewer videos since all the yelling at Stancil. But how can you possibly post videos of unlawful ICE behavior without including any faces? And how can the world possibly know what’s happening without video?
ICE fearmongering seems to have worked on leftists.
There’s a lot of subjectivity there but I’m looking for willingness to discuss. Curiosity helps too!
Probably outing myself as a liberal here haha
If someone sounds like they put something in their own words and demonstrate a little empathy, maybe they’re good faith. If they seem anxious to distance themselves from me in the eyes of observers, bad faith.
I’ve been in a few weird “please educate yourself” situations and I like this approach. I often do need to learn something but the right place to do that isn’t in a circle of bullies.
Some of these absurd accounts are people impersonating lefties, esp when it comes to WS. There’s no downside for them to do it and they post screenshots on X. But yeah, lefties are too easy to parody.
Is it clear my sign is a smartphone? And the eye of the loon is the red square that indicates you’re recording? I think maybe I need design help…
Drivers leaned on or rhythmically honked their horns and all sorts of people made peace signs out windows, gave us thumbs up. It was rare to have a group of three cars pass under without some combination of these. By this lazy poll I think disapproval for ICE is widespread.
My girlfriend was there last week and someone counted over a hundred birds. So she made that Call Your Mom sign. I guess it helped?
Protest signs reading “Eyes On ICE” and “CALL YOUR MOM”
Stood on a highway overpass in West St Paul for about an hour on Sunday. We got so many types of honks and waves. We also got a few birds. In an hour I counted 39 individual birds from 28 bird cars. One driver flipped two and veered out of his lane.
Yeah we who live here don’t want fires, so making that part of a purity test and then calling Will an “unsafe person” for wanting to rejoin RR has made Bluesky leftists seem quite out of touch.
He’s advocating for approach he thinks works better. It’s not his invention and we’re free to disagree.
Social media platforms should let people read your drafts so they can discover what a jerk you weren’t.
If you have a data source or even an intuition based on your RR work near U of M please share.
“Politicians are too rare in the population to be a serious target for law enforcement. We must wait until they are committing most of the crimes.” Is there even a name for this fallacy? I think she invented a new one?
