The ultimate lifeform

Shadow says 'This is my companion. Her name is Midnight.' Sonic closes his eyes and imagines a Dark Chao or a black cat. He opens his eyes and Shadow allows his curious little leech to crawl across Sonic's arm. Sonic says 'She's a little smaller than I expected. She's not going to bite... right? ... Shadow?' Sonic still vividly remembers the Death Leech from Shadow 05 (when he was paralysed and swarmed by them on the Black Comet). I also kinda list the vague reasons why I have this headcanon. 'Treating illness?, grim looking (but cute!), misunderstood, expressive in their own way, unconventional.'
