i know that framing children’s welfare in terms of positive and negative rights is very lib coded. but insofar as we live in a country of rights-based liberties, we must continue to frame things in the terms offered to us. this doesn’t mean that rights are the end-all-be-all of political philosophy

i’m 28, the age where your family begins seriously pressuring you to have kids. yet my family has nothing to say. I tell them I don’t feel comfortable having kids in this environment - they don’t care. boomers didn’t change for their grandkids, and now that’s the norm. the nuclear family is dead.

boomers may be the last generation of grandparents. gen x were awful neglectful parents, and have no motivation to maintain any kind of family structure. millennials have given up on gen alpha. gen z is dead broke, unfulfilled, and morally deprived; our children will be lonely, if they exist at all.

if trump wants to be crucified on the cross, why don’t we oblige him? why not string him up on two wooden boards nailed through his hands and feet? since that’s what he wants and all. just trying to be nice.

as a society, we need to make certain that children understand their rights:

children have the right to not be neglected, endangered, or abused.

children have the right to food, clothing, and a safe home.

children have the right to an education, a lawyer, and doctor-patient confidentiality.
