I tried making Brackeys' game from his "How To Make A Game" series, and the first video drops today at 4 pm EST! (And between you and me, this may be the most unhinged video I've made yet...) See the video today on my Nicklefritz Dev YouTube channel! #gameDev #devlog #indieDev #Unity3D

@inumbragame.bsky.social I must say, your cover art for this game is just stunning! It beautifully captures the mystique that appears prominent in your game from the color pallet and musical selection. ๐ŸคŒ

This game looks stunning. I'm curious to see how it progresses!

Beautiful environment (it was the visuals that caught my eye) The glowing arrows on the ground detracted a little from it, though... Perhaps they don't feel "organic" enough, so it feels out of place, in my opinion.

Conceptually, this looks very similar to the vision I have for my current project (still working on getting the gravity system to work...) I like how you've given the gravity fields a visible atmosphere to inform the player of where the gravity changes. Nicely done!

How to make a Video Game - Godot Beginner Tutorial YouTube video by Brackeys

Today, I still use the Unity game engine, but back when they went through their little "Runtime Fee" fiasco, I took solace in the fact that Brackeys had returned to YouTube with a brand new "Learn Godot" series: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOhf... #Unity #Godot #gameDev

Hello! I'm a new game developer working in Unity and Godot. I'm a father and a dreamer; like most, I come from humble beginnings, and this is just a small part of my story. Let me know if you can relate! #gameDeveloper #Unity3D #Godot #GamingCommunity #gamedev

8. MYST

As the first computer game I ever played, this one holds a special place in my memory. My first computer had roughly 32 MB of RAM, so the game was nearly unplayable, but after watching a book fall one frame at a time over 2 hours, it was all worth it in the end!

7. SSX 3 (GameCube)

It didn't take me long to become a LEGEND at this game! I could win every race, 1st place every time! Jamming out down the slope to 'Radio Big' was an absolute vibe! I would play till my hands blistered!

6. Homeworld (PC)

I'm awful with real-time strategy games, but I couldn't stop engaging with this game's immersive atmosphere. To this day, it has one of the coolest openings for a game I've seen! Much like #markiplier, I think Space Is So Cool!

5. Banjo Kazooie (Nintendo 64)

Standing out (to me) as one of the most iconic story-driven adventure games of its era, this gem fits well alongside my red-capped plumber friend. Click Clock Wood and Mad Monster Mansion were my favorite levels!

4. Animal Crossing (GameCube)

My father said, "Here, I found this game at a Thrift Store; thought you might like it..." The hours and hours I poured into this game over summer vacations... Nothing has compared to that first little town I called home...

3. LEGO Rock Raiders (PC)

This game inspired a mini obsession with caves in young me (and its unique music style may have instilled my predisposition for liking #OwlCity years later...). I'd play the final level for hours trying to get all the energy crystals!

2. Super Mario 64 (Nintendo 64)

I can't tell you how many times I completed this game in its entirety, but I can say that back before I had the Internet to listen to music, I would beat Bowser over and over just to listen to that end theme one more time...

1. Donkey Kong Country (SNES)

My siblings and I would sit in front of the cabinet-encased CRT TV display for hours. The unique art style of 3D models plastered against a 2D world enthralled me, but the music held me captive far longer...

I found a "Capsule Collider" in my daughter's cute little play vegetables. (Pretty interesting material on the mesh renderer, though... I think it's a sweet potato, but I'll have to talk to the art designer for this simulation). #IndieDev #GameDev #GameDevelopment

I do think it's the slight offset that makes it stand out! (And quite frankly I really like it!) It doesn't get lost in the perfectness of the rest of the character. It adds personality to the outfit.

1 year ago 1 0 0 0

I failed to notice the head size difference the first time I looked at it. And even between B, C, and D, I struggle to see the subtle differences. But, that being said, with the knee pads back in, I would vote C as a nice compromise between head sizes.

Nah, that's cool! Sounds like something straight out of Super Mario 64; I imagine from the Haunted level with Boo chasing you! ๐Ÿ˜

What is the audio used in this? (Did you make it?) Sounds very Nintendo 64-esque.

I don't know if I can express just how nice the little curvature of the cylindrical item of his belt on his right (our left) is in comparison to the straight version of the bottom row. This might be my favorite detail (after the hair, that is...).
