I’ve seen many movies six times or more but this and the one in the quoted post are certainly among the ones I have seen the most.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.

If most of your publications are articles then they likely wouldn’t appear in Worldcat, which aren’t really catalogued there. And there are numerous examples of LLMs producing made up sources. That seems like a much bigger problem than the fact that no database contains everything.

I’m teaching my class on Detroit again this fall and so I am collecting material for my opening lecture on the evolving and varied identity of the city: from the Motor City to the Arsenal of Democracy to Motown to the capital of the twentieth century to the Dirty D to Techno City and more.

I have had students who have assumed that what we were reading was by the guy who created STAR WARS.

Later, Duke works for Donald Trump and after Tiananmen he sends Duke to Beijing to extract Honey who was arrested as a dissident. This is also how Duke and Honey end up married.

In a more recent vein, Three Kings depicts Iraqi Kurds (I believe they are specified as such but they may just be Iraqi dissidents) in a positive and heroic manner. And 13 Hours depicts some of the allied Libyan militias as perhaps heroic?

Detroit Opera Steps Into Trump’s Cross Hairs With ‘Central Park Five’ The Pulitzer Prize-winning opera features Donald J. Trump, whose 1989 full-page newspaper ad sought to demonize the young men wrongly accused of rape.

I’m unable to actually see this but I’m curious to see what kind of reaction it gets: www.nytimes.com/2025/04/28/a...

Teaching today, experimental and expanded cinema edition: "What was Dada in regard to cinema was not a specific film, but the performance, not a specific set of techniques or textual organization, but the spectacle."

I taught action cinema last semester and it is remarkable the degree to which that material is essential for understanding the present.

Tony is much the better director of the Scott brothers and Eyes Wide Shut is far superior to A Clockwork Orange.
