We study the Integrated Peer Leadership Program (IPLP) active learning model in an introductory physics class with 125 students, and find that the model's better learning gains, improved grade outcomes, and more equitable grade distribution can persist even in such large classes!
Interested in active learning instruction and lowering grade equity gaps? Wondering how to implement active learning in very large classes? Check out our latest study in The Physics Teacher! Find it here: doi.org/10.1119/5.01..., or send us a message to request a copy.
Really enjoyed the @csubiotech.bsky.social annual symposium hosted at @sacstate.bsky.social. Well done Riya representing the lab!

The Sac State Physics and Astronomy Department graduating class of spring 2025 at commencement.
Congratulations to our spring 2025 physics graduates! This commencement was particularly special for me, as three of our lab students (Wesley Eby, Victor Hernandez, and Sean Currier) were graduating, and Wes became the first B.S. Physics (Biophysics) graduate in university history!
